Track Info: Rockford Speedway - A historical .29167 mile asphalt oval with a limestone base. Corners are banked at 22 degrees and are 50 ft wide with a roller coaster effect. Straights are banked at 8 degrees and are 40 ft wide.
Track History: Rockford Speedway is located just seven miles north of Rockford, IL in Loves Park, IL. Rockford Speedway is Northern Illinois’ longest running sports and entertainment venue.
Since the inaugural season in 1948, the high-banked quarter mile oval has been tabbed as “Mid-America’s Finest Racetrack.” Rich in racing tradition, this reputation has been well earned through hosting major events like the granddaddy of all short track post season events, the National Short Track Championships.
This prestigious event has helped launch the careers of the NASCAR stars such as Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Alan Kulwicki, Ted Musgrave, Rusty Wallace, Rich Bickle, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, Travis Kvapil, Jamie McMurray, Todd Kluever, Erik Darnell, and Scott Wimmer.
The racing is sanctioned by the National Association of Stock Car Racing, NASCAR. Rockford Speedway participates in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. The divisions that compete at the Rockford Speedway includes: Late Model, Sportsman, American Short Trackers, Road Runners, Hornets, Bandits, Winged Women on Wheels and Figure 8’s. The track also hosts many different touring series including: ARCA Midwest Tour, Big 8 late Model Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Illini Racing Series Midgets, Super Cups and more.
Focused on entertaining the fans, Rockford Speedway’s family-oriented racing schedule is nationally known for its innovative events like the ‘Original Trailer Race of Destruction,’ ‘World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race’ and ‘Night of Thrills.’ The Speedway also welcomes nationally-known monster trucks like Tail Gator, Devastator and Mechanical Mischief along with Doug Rose and his world famous Green Mamba Jet Car.
The Speedway is a quarter-mile, high-banked, asphalt race track with fan-friendly grandstand seating on both sides. The facility has been used for circuses, concerts, car shows, sporting events, swap meets, outdoor sales and numerous community fundraising events.

@@killjoydod4937 I think it's just a throwback to John the old announcer. Unfortunately John passed away last year due to covid and he use to do that joke "and who doesn't care" and the crowd would go crazy

4 wheel, 2 wheel, whatever, it's still all good because you never know the skill level and fear level behind each dash. That's the intangibles that makes this fun.
That was a great race event. Some really close finishes and some fun crashes. Good clean fun!

Maybe it depends on the corvette. I have a C5 Z06 and the rear end tucks in really good under power without drifting unless it’s wet out, and then all bets are off if the traction control isnt on! 😂 lol

Yeah but it didn't matter... they ran it again for one but also either would have gotten destroyed by the Corvette

My man driving the focus deserved to win he drove his ass off and that very last lap last turn is the move I pull for all the time when someone is in just that position high on the track and behind 1st. Get your shit together and make one hell of a run from up top to inside as much as possible and straight as possible and hammer down.. as much as possible lol. Great move there at the end….perfect

The dude in the Jeep was seriously pussyfooting it. Focus was solid as well, but the Jeep really had the upper hand but was braking way early in the corners.

@@killjoydod4937 Bald tires are the only solid reasoning imo. I have the same vehicle and it can handle more than that. I understand not wanting to break that beautiful machine, but he took it to a spec drag and the SRT was made to be tracked. Race it like it was meant to be dammit.

350 HP for the RS with all wheel drive, the ST 256 HP front wheel drive. I have a 14 Fiesta ST, there Magic cars, drive one and you’ll see. The Fiesta Flash

The way the races start is awful, most drivers jump when he screams "Watch the starter" but no one waits for the flag to drop.
I feel sorry for the people that listen to this guy every week.

thats an 06 srt8 jeep folks! 6.1 hemi in that.. notice it was beating the rs focus from a stop? they are in the 4 second range as well to 60mph.. anyways considering the power to weight im very impressed with the jeep!

Buick beat the Pizza Car. #ROBBED The Jeep Track Hawk has 700hp. That Focus is probably tuned to 350hp but weighs almost 2/3's less and probably has upgraded suspension. That lets me know how impressive the Jeep really is.

Jeep just an SRT which came with 6.1 Hemi. Surprised it kept up with Focus RS. Trackhawk didn’t come out till newer body style.

@@kingssuck06 That Aston Martin is like a bentley, and that 1999 is a "pure bred" sports car, if you can even call american cars for sporty, and its not close to stock hahah. That Ford Focus has 50hp less than the Aston Martin. Yet it destroys the camaro, but camaro keeps up on the straight. Camaro = Tuned crazy, or its a 5.7 330hp which is tuned to about 400. And at that point, its ALOT lighter than the Aston Martin. Aston Martin is not a sportscar, its a Cruiser/GT. Camaro is supposed to be a sporty muscle.
That focus is definitely European, mostly German.
