I watch another amp dyno on an amp but maybe you could try it out and do a review on it as well its the new Rockville DB comp5 3500rms watts for $350 and I was very surprised to see it hit near 4,000 rms certified up to clipping and found out its a Korean board that you might want to do a video on this amp its also linkable so you can get 2 and see for $700 how much Rockville can put out!

Hey big d i have the newest 1000-4 cp and the birthsheet reads about 320 ish at 4 ohm and about 350ish at 2 ohm. My question to you is can this amp handle 1.66 - 1 ohm stereo since this amp is well built what are you thoughts. Will it make more power ? Hmmm

From 1993 when I first got into car audio, 'till today Rockford Fosgate has consistently produced a good product. There's very few other brands I can say the same for.

@@kriptic22 yep, RF is now made in China. Very few amp manufacturers left in the US. Linear Power, MMATS and Tru Technology are the only ones I can think of. Even JL Audio is Chinese made. Sad days.

What a beautiful 4 channel amplifier. That beast really put out the power. Love the class AB for mids and highs. I'm sure the sound quality is top notch in person. Good luck finding one if you have the money to spend. This one might actually be worth the $$$

@Williston Audio Labs I’m curious that do you guys in the States have any SPL Dynamics amps there? Especially the DIG-1450 class D monoblock? It was the shit back in the early 2000’s! They were fasca/iasca/db drag classified amps, which broke many spl records those days. They were pretty small in size, and advertised outputs were 450w rms @4ohm, 800w rms @2ohm and +1000w rms @1ohm. People said that they were putting out more than advertised. It’s a Finnish brand that made me a 110% autohifi freak. My first car subwoofer system was indeed SPL Dynamics, 2x Pro 12D4 mk3 subs in a ported 120L enclosure, tuned to 32hz with 2x 4” Aeroports, driven with a DIG-1450 amp @1ohm. We put a 2x Pro 15D4 mk4’s in my friends mitsubishi sedan in a sealed 90L enclosure, driven by DIG-1450 @1ohm, and man those subs teared up his trunk and trunk lid bad!! 😂 We gave demos with it back in 2006 summer, to other teenagers on weekends, and I remember two of my friends whose couldn’t be more than 20sec on the back seat, and one of them two had his ears bleeding blood 😂 Would love to have those amps and subs today.. There are some for sale once in a while, but the conditions or prices are bad. 😁

Now compare it to the new 4 channel D class and listen to both from same source at same volume and tells us how they compare.

@@Ichabod_Jericho No, the point is that audiophiles swear by the AB class and don't like the D class, which is far more efficient and far smaller. New D class amps should be on par with sound quality with AB, but we won't know until someone tests two otherwise same amps, like the amp we're discussing (the new one is D class).

@@freethinker4liberty In car amps, perhaps yes, but not in real high end gear.... no class d amplifier has come close to a bryston 4 cubed b as an example... If you know enough about amplifiers... it's really not hard to see why class d, while it has gotten better, still will never compare "least not for a long time" to the linearity of an A or AB amplifier that is well designed...

I've been watching you videos for awhile this is the first time in my car over bluetooth. Sounds great on 3 JL 10w6 O.G from 1993 never blown, U.S AMPS 500

The T1000-4 is the same size as the T2500-1BDCP. Those two together are absolute beast mode.

My brother had one of these. Driving 2 10" RF HE's. We always make custom boxes, and I swear, to this day, I/we will always go for old school Rockford. Harder to find now, but its worth it.

Maybe I’m just “old school” myself, but I believe this series of power amps is overall the best you can get. They have a great combination of power, reliability and sound quality. This particular amp is will push just about anything with authority. Thanks for the video Big D!

I'm useing a single t1000-4 to power my CDT Eurosports and Dayton 12" subwoofer and it does sound stunning with effortless power🥰 strangely enough I use elac debut bookshelf speakers as well.

That would look awesome installed into a certain someone's blue Ford hot rod... Especially with those blue VU meters. 👍

Thanks for all the vids. I really depend on your videos to make amp decisions, and speakers too sometimes, as they need to match. --I recently called RF about my P600X4. I asked why when all other companies are basically moving into class D only amps, RF continues with AB, BD, etc. amps. The rep said RF believes AB is still the best sounding amps for car audio, though technologies have surpassed prior AB circuitry, so RF makes advanced AB, or BD, type amps because they have better sound quality. He backed this up by saying that the current Prime series are all class D amps, and if you want higher quality sound, step up to Punch or Power series. --ahhhh. OK. That's why I have a P600X4 AB 15 pound amp. -I got so used to class D amps that it seems like I forgot what good sounding music ... well ... sounds like, which I realized after I installed the P600X4 and tuned it, then listened. The sound is amazing. !

One of the best looking amps ive ever seen... up the with the MTX Thunder series!

i have the 2500 watt big brother to that amp & i designed an amp rack so those beautiful VU meters can be seen. I love it!

@@wal No way, you use this amp in the video for a pair of your best mids/highs, then a separate dedicated amp for the subs. That would be an all out end game SQ setup, which I'll have some day once I find a fun to drive vehicle (cornering/handling/braking) without a ton of road noise to put it all in.

Just love rockford fosgate with over the power ratings and their lit up dials for the power.

Big D I just noticed a few Orion HCCA 5000.1DV2's were made available again for $700ish!!! Grab one and test it please! You know you want too. Especially after how well the last one did. Im so pumped I was able to grab one. This beautiful red monster will have to be pried from my dead cold hands.

I really don't know whom can beat the comparison.

I'm not much of a Rockford fan but this looks really nice. I like beefy 4 channels and especially 2 of them in my old installs. VU meters in the Crunch amps how time has passed.

The paper "combs" were a nice touch. Too funny!

Paying a grand for a amplifier I want it to be big, especially if I'm building a system. Will look SAF if your 10k is the size of a smoke pack with four zero gauge wires hanging out.

Rockford doesn't seem to be quite as prominent in the SPL world as they used to be, but I've always had a spot in my heart for their amps. I've always liked the way these amps looked.

RF for the win! How time flies when you consider the Power series amps of this generation are almost 10 years old... Over all this time these amps are so good that they didn't change the gorgeous aesthetic and just made a few tweaks to make them even better(AD-class, BDCP introduction). As far as the heat concern I have three T1500-BDCPs and they also get frighteningly hot to the touch but that's a good sign as the amp is actually sinking heat away from the FETs. The thermal design you see on the Zenon amps or even the active cooling on the Brazilian stuff doesn't come anywhere close to what the passive cooling does on the Fosgates.

3:28 Anyone looking for a video tutorial on how to do this, look up "Headlight restoration" its the exact same process. Heavier scratches call for heavier sanding / polishing compound, there is no "one size fits all" to removing scratches, however the methods remain the same. You are removing a small layer of the plastic to reveal the non scratched or non sun stained and faded headlight lenses material. Then polishing it and sealing it to make it last.

To this day I still use my 601s. I’ve bought MANY other amps and keep coming back to this.... TWENTY YEARS LATER.

My next level build is going to be 2 t1000.4s and 2 t-1500. I've had a really nice b2 audio reference 6 channel in the cart for almost 2 weeks. I just need one more of each power series n I'm golden. Till they absolutely destroy the speakers. NEVER would've thought 120 watts rms wouldn't be enough. Always upgrading.

Just bought a t1000.4ad. Ive been running the t2500bdcp and punch p500.2 amps for a couple years. Run absolutely flawlessly. Didn't even consider another brand. The new t1000.4 has some tradeoffs with the older version here. Its more powerful with constant power tech. Significantly smaller and obviously more efficient being class AD. No tiffany rcas. No vu meters. Even if the older model was still being sold id probably still get the AD version.

Holy crap what a beast of an amp!! 😳 Shame they don't make a class AB 4 channel in that size anymore. It's becoming more the norm of using class D instead. I don't mind sacrificing a little efficiency and size for sound quality. On that note, it sounded amazing on those bookshelf speakers. 😍👌 Great video BigD!!

I have two AB 350.4 the VFL style 4 channels. Older versions with the silver chassis. 175rms x4 at 4 ohm, 350rms x4 at 2 ohm. Its a monster.

T1000 is just like the Terminator!

I had a Power series 650 back in the 90’s and the power 300 that came out after the 650 had every bit as much power as the 650. Running highs with the 650 turned out to be destructive on the high end tho.

Alright big D. I’m finally on my way up. I found 2 first gen fosgates dvc punches for $30! On Craigslist. Bought those and have them in an old school audiobahn band pass box with an mtx thunder 4250d at 2 ohms. My box lasted 30 seconds before it blew the plexiglass window off. I fixed that and beefed it up. Now my 08 g6 is slamming. I’m looking for a bigger amp though

You can use car product on acrylic or most any plastic...3M or meguiars clear coat rubbing compound

Nice very powerfull amp , you get more then you thought you did paid for 😎. Actually ever did dyno a Autotek mean machine 1400.1D? I have it on my Digital Designs 12inch woofer at 1 ohms and gave a lot power. Its also the most heavy fused amp I had so far , it had 160A fuse in it. Somehow the amp died after my car had been sitting for more then a year in a garage for swapping the engine.....it just died out of nothing. So I got me a Audio System monoblock on it with 200 watts less (if I believe specs) because of prices. It still hits hard on the DD subwoofer but I have the feeling the Autotek Mean Machine 1400.1D gave a lot more power then it was rated on the box.

Reminds me of my fosgate 600a5 you can run subs on all channels.

RF told me that temp. at operating can be up to about 160 degrees. I believe they said at 165 degrees, protect kicks in.

Sound quality is immeasurably better on A/B class is fine if all you are worried about is moving air and it doesn't matter if it sounds bad
