    I still really like it. Like I mentioned, it's nothing insane, just some nice balance to add to your [stock] mids & highs.

  • @WilliamHuber3

    Absolutely. It's not going to be anything over-the-top but it will definitely add some balance to your mids/highs.

    I have the same model in a 2001 Lexus ES300 and its perfect for me, No ghetto trunk rattle, still good clear bass n sound. I leave it at about 60%-70% on the quick adjust knob below my dash. Mine is lying on its back in my trunk bc that's where they put the velcro, haven't had any issues with sliding around.

    Am I missing something or is it pointless to judge the sound quality of a speaker by listening to a low quality digital recreation in youtube?

    Try switching your phase switch back to zero, the bass sounded a little muddy. I like that sub; Thinking of picking one up this month. You decided against the RCA option over the high level input? In this case, you do not need the remote on connection at all. Did you connect the remote on to the head or the fuse box?

  • @Bradbssargdons

    I just installed this and tapped into the suggested front right speaker wires. Everything looks good. Sub works but it barely hits... I mean BARELY hits. I have to put my ear over the port to actually hear it. I have played with the settings, phase shifter, gain on unit, bass boost on unit, gain control knob via remote. This is the second pair of speaker wires I have tapped into and its the same. What am I doing wrong? It almost sounds like zero bass has been added, but I can hear it firing.

    Thanks for the video and installation notes. I am considering the P300-12 and your comments were helpful. I am also curious about your previous system. You mentioned dual 12" subwoofers and an 1800 watt amplifier for $200. Can you share the details of this setup with us? That sounds like a great deal too. Thanks.

    Cool video. You persuaded me to get this but I opted for the p300-12. Man this thing has some clean base hits. Anyway, I have mine hooked up to an aftermarket stereo in my car. Got it powered to my battery and grounded in my trunk. I also have it connected to some RCA wires to the back of my head unit. My question is this. The blue light on mine is always on even when the car is off. I think on the sub I have it set to come on when it detects an audio signal. This was the only option that kicked the power on. Is this light being on all the time how it should be? Thanks again.

    Sounds pretty good... looking at one of these for my access cab truck. From the outside it looks like the speaker itself is actually a prime series unit. I wonder if they just put a cheap prime sub into a box with an amp and labeled it as a punch series unit. If you have the time I would be interested in seeing a video of the sub removed from the box and confirmed as a true punch series unit.

  • @RAID3R63

    @RAID3R63

    Rockford fosgate sells this unit on there website it's got an internal 300 watt amp. if you wanted to you could open the box somehow and see if its bridgable if so 600 amps would really help the thump. if not just get a wire hookup from you local speaker shop and get a better amp.

    most powered subs have a "high level" input option where you split the wires going to the rear speakers right into the sub's input. its not a very good way to do it but it works.

    One suggestion - Make sure people people are using good speakers when they listen to your video. Also make sure your using a good mic. Most camcoders have one, but many cellphones don't, decent mic doesn't cost much. The 10" can be had for less than $200 if you shop around.
