That wasnt just being nice on Eltons part; when your parents are miserable and together, it rubs off on you as a child. Your selfesteem lowers, and you yourself feel like a failure, because you always identify with your parents up to some degree. So when you finally see them happy, you know there's happiness & self love to be found for you too... I know this from my own, and working experience. Other than that, the loyalty of a childfor its parents is deep. And Elton obviously is a loyal child. Bless his heart.

Barbara, you’re right! Such a class act (and of course an all-around phenomenal, fabulous, deep human being). To have the sincerity to tell your story where people’s imperfections and pain affected you, but also to have the class, grace, and empathy also to focus on their happiness now.... Takes someone special. He’s one of my models of he kind of human I’d like to be. If only I could also get that wardrobe!

I can’t believe that my parents are divorcing, they lived separately for years so it makes it easier for me and my siblings. I had a tough and happy childhood. My dad is like Elton’s dad, he wasn’t loved as a kid hence was very hard for him to show love to my mom and my siblings. I think he loved as much as he could but he wasn’t the warmest and caring father on this planet. Thank God my mom is the complete opposite, full of love and care. I think I came out ok because of my mom. Thnx Mom for not giving up on me ❤️ Also she’s been free of him for about 5 years and she is the happiest since then...can’t believe they are filing for divorce just now.....should have done it 5 years ago. Cause they could have been truly free of each other. I don’t know if he has anyone in his life, but whatever if he does I don’t really mind or care. As long as everyone is happy.

Taron's singing in the movie is amazing. You forget that he's acting and that it's not actually Elton that you're looking at on the screen.

It is good and I was glad to hear that is how everyone wanted to do it, be himself. But Elton in those days is possibly the most underrated singer. He could hit highs that only few ever had, he was amazing and Taron isn't on that level. But again, this was by design. I just wanted to say you really can't recreate Elton's voice in that era, if you could, go find your Bernie and make us some new tunes!

Taron seems to adapt a more casual and sheltered pose as he is letting Sir Elton take the lead in this interview, who adapt a more gorilla position, since this is his life plus when u r a god of music, you always take the spotlight

That scene with his dad fawning over his two sons right in front of him just killed me. That was the most well acted bit of cinematography I've ever seen. He was crushed but not destroyed. Elton was stronger than he even knew.

44 years ago, my future bride and I sat in the upper deck of Dodger Stadium and attended and listened to the most iconic concert I've ever attended. Dodger Stadium 1975. Elton! I am amazed at the number of incredible songs that Elton and Bernie created. Loved them then. Love them now...

Yes, Elton's retiring from touring & him transitioning himself to radio & mentoring will KEEP HIM YOUNG AT HEART. Taron reminded me of Hermione Granger. Piping up to clarify events from Elton's life lol. It was funny about the Dodgers stadium bit though, he got the days wrong and had to just pipe down.

The way that Elton is so honest and candid about everything is a breath of fresh air. He's not here to be fake and promote his movie by pretending to know the actors. Love it

"I'm still standing" is a song that has helped me through life. The first time I heard it I started crying because the lyrics were practically telling my story. Hearing it made me cry but also gave me strength. Now every time I hear it I sing it and I feel this fire in me that I thought was gone a long time ago

I didn't know I could love Elton even more until I saw this interview. Can't wait for the movie, and the book in the fall.

This interviewer is great. Asks great questions, engages with Elton and Taron well and he isn’t afraid to butt in but in a nice way as he apologises. From what I can tell, he warms to the guests and that makes all the difference

I am so glad taron sang himself and didn’t lip sync ✨😍

Saw it. Great movie, the scene where he's in the rehab centre and all his family and his younger self come in and they sing together is amazing, a scene to remember. It really was divine. And just the friendship between Elton and Bernie

when I saw the movie, my heart went out to Elton, I could relate to his search to be loved and what you find yourself doing to attain it or don't. I laughed and cried like a baby and at the end of the picture, the whole theater irrupted in applause. like watching a prize fighter

Elton is definitely one of the GOATS in this music world, and just a good and vibrant person who truly loves life! Its inspiring!

I am so happy that he asked for help when he needed it. The music world would not be the same without him - even now. I have been very blessed to have seen Sir Elton in concert a few years ago. I have nothing but respect for this talented and generous man. He gave all of his energy to make sure that we (audience) got what we paid for. Actually he gave more than that. I truly feel blessed that I was even in the same room as him. I wish so much that I could tell him how very much I am thankful for his time

Taron is so eloquent. So much more to come from him as an actor I am sure.

I love how much elton supports new artists. I don't like the whole attitude that all music today sucks and looking into the past...music back then was amazing duh but new music is good too you just gotta look for it!

InkyPetrel at least bohemian rhapsody did it well. There was also bits of Ramis voice mixed into the audio as well as Marc Martels voice

I mean to be fair, Freddie's voice was insanely unique in terms of range, and it's basically impossible to copy, so Rami not singing is perfectly acceptable and understandable.

I'm 48 now born in 71 and I can honestly say the first song I've ever heard from Elton John was Bennie and the Jets when I was about 4 or 5.

I'm only a year younger than you and I love Elton's music. Madman Across The Water, Tumbleweed Connection, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road are masterpieces.

The interviewer’s reaction to the movie was mine. All I wanted was to give Elton a hug.

Love elton John, I've always loved his honesty. He could be a bit of a drama queen but watching the film I see where his anger issues came from :( I am glad he finally found peace and happiness and he does so much and gives so much back. So nice he did find love with David furnish real love , he's always been so supportive of elton and I believe he's been the one there in the background keeping him standing. And Bernie has been such a loyal friend to him throughout his whole life, always loved and accepted him for who he was. Everybody needs someone like that in their lives especially when your in that business!

Elton was extremely kind to my brother and I and it means so much for me to see that they have finally gotten around to telling this lovely man’s amazing story. Sadly, my beautiful brother won’t sit next to me when I see it, but he will definitely be there with me in Spirit.

I grew up listening to Elton John and loved this interview. Just watched the movie and have to say it was made beautifully . Eltons had his demons but somehow he's risen above it all and is a special special man, thank you for the music Elton.

The movie was absolutely incredible, a huge thank you to all involved in this project.

Great interview and interviewer who knows his stuff and did his research! One of the more revealing EJ interviews done lately.

Elton is such a Winnie the Pooh and I love it

My mom was utterly shocked how many Elton John songs I was singing they were playing throughout the movie. And I told my mom I secretly love Elton John songs just like how I secretly love Freddie Mercury songs as well. And when Your Song came on I couldn’t help it I was singing and with my autism I was moving with the music. Music makes me super happy. And Elton is extremely lucky to be able to watch a film about himself. Keep imagining how Freddie Mercury would be if he watched Bohemian Rhapsody.

Amazing movie. He really hung in there and is "still standing" and totally sober now. Glad he shared his story

I have seen it twice in the past week.Its funny,its emotional,its gritty and its flamboyant.Amazing!

I’ve loved him my entire life and now even more so!

is it okay have a feeling that Elton John was like a "godfather" to every young person, who started music career?

Can safely say this was one of the best films I have ever watched. Taron's performance was simply perfection and I love both him and Elton so so much.

I want to give a big hug to Sir Elton John first of all. I want to express my personal feelings about this fantastic movie that portrayed his difficult life. I have been extremely moved bye the roller coaster ride that Elton went through in his life. This movie changed my knowledge of what Elton John went through his life and how his music became what it is today. How personal and loving is soul is. This is a must must must see movie. After watching it a hundred times I bought the DVD and I couldn't be any happier! Love you Sir Elton John. Thank you for all what you gave to us.

I am AMAZED that Taron sang all of the songs in that movie! It truly sounded like Elton. I’m blown away by the talent of this brilliant young man.

Great interview with Elton and Taron. It's especially enjoyable to see someone like Elton embrace not only his back catalog and legacy, but also be mature enough in his older age to embrace and support new artists, instead of actually trying to be 20-something himself all over again. That time has passed. Each generation has their heroes, and he's more respected for understanding that vs. fighting tooth and nail against it. Kudos.

I saw this movie last night and it was WONDERFUL!!!! It’s so much fun and I love the message!

I went to the cinema to see Rocketman yesterday (4th June 2019) and I thought the film was amazing!! I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years time, the film would be made into a show in a London theatre. The singing and dancing was awesome, the music of Elton John was just brilliant!! The actors were amazing too. They played their parts so well. The actor who played Elton, actually sounded a bit like him when he sung the songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, definitely recommend to go and see it! The fans will not be disappointed!!

The interviewer’s reaction at the beginning is exactly how I’d be if I met Elton after seeing the movie. Give him a big hug.

When "your song" started during the movie, I cried like a baby. Like, sobbing. God i love that man.

Just seen the film just brilliant and Taron did a great job playing him

Elton mentioned Billie Eilish, Khalid, Christine & the queens and Lizzo. Besides him being an absolute legend, he has great taste in music. (Ps : I love Taron Egerton wholeheartedly)

The best part is when he plays "Your song" to his best friend. Their friendship was my favorite part!

The fact that Elton John game shout out in reference to Billie Eilish, Khalid, and Rizzo makes me respect and so much more. Such a good movie too.

After this interview, I love Elton even more.

Taron is super talented and absolutely gorgeous. Be still my beating heart! 😍

Since I'm not into, or don't pay attention to, or am not (that) impressed with new or modern bands, and, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, despite NOT owning ONE Elton John CD, ( I'm more into AC/DC, Ozzy, and Judas Priest, among others), I, TOO, am looking forward to seeing this movie! By the way, did you see, the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody?

SO excited to see “Rocketman” as a huge Elton and Taron fan

This movie knocked my socks off last night. What a phenomenal movie! So brave and creative and heartbreaking and uplifting.

Attended that concert at Dodger Stadium...in about the first200' from the stage! Great Concert.

The nickname “Uncle Elton” really fits-he seems to be a mentor figure for a lot of younger artists & celebrities

Im crying right now man. Elton had a really difficult life. Im so proud of him. So proud of actor's work.
