As my good controllers start to have a bigger deadzone i've tried it too but I am following Yukeo settings, Air roll buttons are on the mouse. I need to retrain but my god, the half-flip is so much easier :p

You're the channel I've been looking for. I know a decent amount of the theory from researching and translating to KBM button layout but a live overlay in the bottom corner is about 10x more helpful while learning!

This finally is some instructions for keyboard players! I'd love to see more tutorials on keyboard plays. I was feeling keyboard would let me hit a ceiling, but you gave me hope and inspiration to continue as keyboard player. Hope there is more to come, I subscribed for more at least 👍

1400 hours into rocket league and I’m hard stuck champ 1 and I feel like I have really solid positioning and other fundamentals but lack in mechanics and car control that will get me to the next level.. I never thought this type of movement was possible on kb&m but im excited to give it a try, thank you!

Just finding all this, been KBM for all 1k+ hours at Champ 2-3, but never been mechanical (just good with game sense and team play). Simply removing the 'shift' to air roll has helped me perform some in-game (casual duels), extremely basic, air dribbles. Continuing to play in casuals before going back to competitive, since apparently my muscle memory is recovering with 'shift' rotations and I'm trying to break it. I knew from evample that this was something KBM could get to, and what lead me to look for guides to KBM as I want to be able to contest the skies. Yours is one of the best guides to KBM and has helped the most. Can't wait to keep going through the series!

I´m playing Rocket league since 2016, but with many breaks. I was never interested in the mechanics, I just played 2vs2 with a firend and was so pround when I hit Diamond 1 back then. 2 weeks ago I finally installed rocket league and played it after about 1 year and i really want to get better in this game, espeacially mechanic wise. I knew non of those you explained here. I always thought you had to play with a controller to do all this stuff so i was very frustrated, because after about 400h only playing kbm it felt impossible to play with a controller. I am so glad, i found your channel with all those great tutorials for kbm. I´m realy looking forward to get better in this game and climb up the ladder. Excellent video with great in-depth detail. REALLY wish I saw this when I began RL, or at least a few months in to it. Breaking some of the habits I have and learning the Diamond (or better) mechanics would have helped tremendously!

Helpful video. The KBM community is much neglected on KZread so videos like this are great. I'm a KBM player stuck in Plat mainly because I lack basic mechanics. I struggle just to get the ball on top of my car so I can't even attempt those flicks. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I seem to bang it too far and then use boost to try catch up and by then it's going too fast. Also, when do I switch ball cam on and off. At the moment I only switch it off when I'm collecting boost. Hope to see more videos like this.

Jason Isaacs learning ball control is hard it’s one of those things with more time you can get better slowly. I recommend trying some work shop maps if you’re on steam. Go to community workshop and search rocket league they have dribbling maps that helped me! As for your ball cam question that is entirely up to you. When I am dribbling with the ball on top of my car, so my camera doesn’t do circles, I turn ball cam off. As well when I go for boost or rotate in general. I tend to flick on and off ball cam a lot. About 85% of my game though is with ball cam on.

Awesome in-depth video. Keep it up. I have been playing kbm since season 3 of rocket league. i would also recommend to learn the fast aerial for beginners. my friends who recently joined the game didn't know about this and said they were always getting beat to the ball. i figured that was one reason. i never used q and e to air roll. use shift + a and shift + d but i have put that many hours into the game that now i am comfortable and can do most mechanics with ease. i use q and e to look around and pan the camera. also use c and v to look up and down. mouse button for rear view. all in all an excellent video

That’s pretty clever those controls. If your comfortable with it then hey, that’s what’s best for you. I use my mouse thumb buttons for looking left and right but I don’t have looking up and down bound which I feel hinders me sometimes but I’m also just used to it. If I flick on and off ball cam it kinda does the same thing

Subscribed because of that video. Will watch again when I will practice today evening. However I changed drift to right click, jump to space and ball cam to side mouse button. Jumping with space is just similar to all other games

I enjoyed this tutorial, and this has been, by far, the most helpful PC keyboard/mouse tutorial. It was perfect as I too use Q and E for air-roll. Also, the point of removing the air-roll from shift seems promising. I think it can improve the gameplay, holding it as much as you like without worrying for an unintended air-roll, I'm definitely going to try this. And seeing you do side wavedash so well has given me more hope. Thank you for the video, I've subscribed as I believe this is a really good channel for someone playing with kb/m.

I’m glad it was helpful❤️ I think it was around plat when I first started the game where I realized that I was unintentionally holding shift and a making me over rotate. I could never figure out why I was until I found that it was shift being bound. I literally did not even know until then. I wished it defaulted to just q and e. I mean even if you watch pro controller players they all highly recommend changing your controller settings so you can air roll more precisely

@@MrComicallyBad Exactly, when I first became curious on the whole air roll topic, probably around plat, the one tip that most of them gave was to change the default binding. I think it was meant for xbox, but coming from a space-sim game "Elite dangerous" which had such rolls, I decided to bind the same in RL. And it was very helpful. In Champ-1, I realized that shift also does the same air roll thing after watching Yukeo's video, but I just couldn't change my muscle memory from Q/E to that. I also don't use shift much for recovery as much I should be doing, which is bad. And it never occurred to me to remove that binding, but this video made it clear. More likely I'll be using shift for recoveries now that it'll hold a single function. Also, what is your opinion on fast kickoff? I try to do the "turn opp. direction then diagonal flip towards ball", but my car doesn't land at the bottom of the ball. Instead the flip almost completes with the bumper hitting the mid of ball. Most of the time it results in ball going back to my half bouncing high, really fast.

Dr. Cooper to be quite honest I Gave up on the fast kickoff and using the fast flip idea. If I use the new fast flip mechanic it’s not the same as it is on controller. We don’t have the same flips they have so they’re able to land differently and flip differently. I can do the old school fast kickoff that jzr does but it hardly works ever without getting demoed, bumped, or just scored on

I have near 1000 hours played with keyboard and mouse, peak in C2. And I just noticed Air Roll left and right existed for controllers, so I checked up if someone had tips for keyboard and mouse. Now you saying I should go with Q and E. I think I will try but omg just the though of changing is hard, for the hand memory I mean. If I remember, I'll tell if it went well. xDD But I guess it's true as to airroll with shift I have to be aware of all combinations with WASD. Maybe I'll be too lazy to try for a long time so I don't know. Now these videos for keyboard and mouse, I couldn't find a single one back in the day, I'm really grateful for you doing this.
