ROCKBOURNE TROUT FISHERY - Hat Trick plus a another mystery species…

Спорт

Rockbourne trout fishery
Stalking was tough due to winter low light conditions and we had torrential rain and flooding all that week which left a slight colour in the water! So the plan changed on the day for just stalking to different methods blind stalking, stalking and fishing a gater bug under the bung all did the job
And and added bonus of getting a spartic a rainbow and brownie resulting in a rockbourne hat trick 👌🏻

Hat Trick indeed Luke, Trio with your Rio(hat).Beautiful marked brown ,what a trout. That gater bug like Martyn said is universal ,never seems to fail you.Come across his video of the same day both of you on good form.Anyway have a good Birthday next week tight lines to you and the boys fishing with you and dont have too many beers on the water or you'll have too many toilet stops on way home🤣👍

Great video Luke, never fished Rockbourne as it's a bit too far for me, it's a lovely looking fishery. I'm off to Avington next Saturday providing the lakes aren't frozen!

My fave fishery - I have had lots of doubles out of Rockbourne. This time of year I would have my low light glasses on but stalking is best from April - June at Rockbourne and winter is pretty much blind fishing. As you said I would put 95 percent of my trout back if I had the option to do so…good stuff

Yes mate I totally agree I think what made stalking extra hard was the run off from all the rain we had it was hammering down for a week still a great day out just my preferred style is sight fishing this was more lechlade style where you was only seeing the odd fish and fishing blind but that’s the time of year I agree rockbourne is an maxing fishery with some big fish and its so picturesque looking forward to stalking there later on in the year on my next trip down

I would argue that brown was a specimen solely based on the quality of the fish itself

@@Full_on_flyfishing have just started watching your videos and can’t stop 😂 do you rate hardy rods I’m thinking of getting some the Nsx X and the ultra lite nsx I’ve had sage r8 but can’t seem to get on with them thanks

Hahaha thanks man only started 3 months ago plenty more to come glad you enjoy them! And I’ve tried the r8 at my local tackle shop unless your an amazing caster you won’t get the best out of that rod wasn’t for me either honestly the hardy rods have a lot of back bone and are a lot more forgiving making them easy to cast better blank in my opinion I haven’t tried the x though that’s the stuffer one again I didn’t like the colour either it’s like a burgundy isn’t it ?

@@Full_on_flyfishing yes it is I had a x before honestly one of the most powerful rods I’ve ever tried casting that is ridiculous could be the worst caster and still get unbelievable distance I’m looking forward to your videos keep them coming
