Because the music on the albums were always so complex, the band has additional musicians to fill out the different parts live. They were virtually the same touring company for the last two world tours (1987-89, and 1994). Pink Floyd here is David Gilmour on lead guitar and vocals, Richard Wright on keys, and Nick Mason on drums. The additional musicians are Guy Pratt on bass, Tim Renwick on guitars, Gary Wallis on percussion, Jon Carin on keys, Dick Parry on Saxophones, Sam Brown, Durga McBroom, and Claudia Fontaine on backing vocals. It was Rachel Fury, Margaret Taylor, and Durga during the '87-89 tour. Tim played lead on Learning To Fly (David plays lead during that middle section where the lasers are flashing), the second solo for Another Brick In the Wall (the PULSE version is killer), and lead on Welcome To the Machine during the Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour. Keep the Floyd reactions coming, man! This was great!

For the record (others may already have mentioned this), Tim Renwick is a long-time honorary Pink Floyder, contributing his unique, incendiary rhythm-lead-style guitar work to their albums for decades.

Gary Wallis is the second extra drummer and Tim Renwick the second guitarist

These Pulse concerts were after the split with Roger Waters and they had picked up Guy Pratt as a regular on Bass. Additionally, for these Pulse concerts they picked up the extra guitarist (Tim - yes he played lead on this one), the standing drummer, and an extra keyboardist. Nick Mason is the original drummer (and he is here) but he only plays seated. This whole concert is worth a watch....just awesome!

As ikshields commented. Guest guitarist is Tim Renwick. Highly revered sessionist, brought in at the invitation of Gilmore who openly admits he can't get a grip on string tapping. Check out "Another Brick in the Wall" at the Earl's Court "flying pig" concert .

On The Turning Away...LIVE! David Gilmour at his absolute best!

This is sort of confusing if you aren't familiar with Pink Floyd. This is the last tour they did as a band, and by this time they've been bringing in extra musicians to help replicate their sound from the albums, which are usually pretty complex. Also, this version of Pink Floyd is without Roger Waters, who left the band. David Gilmour and Roger Waters are still fighting to this day. I've never seen a version of this song where David Gilmour didn't play lead, although that guy did a great job. I'd check out the songs Time and Brain Damage/Eclipse (both from the album Dark Side of The Moon which is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year). Also, Coming Back To Life and High Hopes are two other great song from The Division Bell Album.

You don’t often see a David Gilmour led band with another dude on guitar. But Tim Renwick(sp?) is perfectly right for this song. A lot of people rag on this album (Momentary…) but it sounded fresh when I heard it when it came out. And even though it has a lots of 80s production, it has all of the good things about 80s production for me

Touring live toward the end of Floyd's active cycle, they basically built an Orchestra with multiple musicians not part of the studio/official band for the live shows, to give a depth of sound just not possible otherwise. Tim Renwick was teh lead guitarist for the tour. Counting the backign singers, there were 9 additional musicians on stage for this, plus the 3 actual members of Pink Floyd, at that time.

Tim played lead on Learning To Fly, the solo for Another Brick In the Wall, and the lead on Welcome To the Machine on the nights it was played during the Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour in the late 80s. It was Gilmour on lead everywhere else.

guitar solo on the Pulse "Comfortably Numb" leaves the original lineup for dead. Dave Gilmour and Guy Pratt are awesome

Nick Mason keeps the timing and Rythmn and Gary Wallis does the " Infills "

All the original Pink Floyd members are in this except Roger Waters(bass). Dude on bass is Guy Pratt.

Those other musicians are just tour support.
