I think you nailed why Stray Kids instantly became my favorite. I prefer rock music too, but I love Stray Kids. They are definitely harder, with a rock edge. That they produce their own stuff is awesome. The live Kingdom performance of God's Ddu Ddu Ddu (a BlackPink mashup) is amazing, highly recommend. Stray Kids just got signed to a major US label and are about to have a comeback, so good time to become a stan. They've all been hiding their hair colors lately. Deep voice at the beginning is Felix. He and Bang Chan (in the jean jacket with the baseball bat) are both Aussies.

This song is a clap back for haters …. The cheese/sticky notes represent haters comments…. The numbers that flash represent all the views continuing to grow…. With the haters help! Basically “Yo! Ur hate still giving us views so CHEESE!” They are called construction music and they embrace it. Some of the lyrics are from a few other other songs like Side Effects and Gods Menu…. Which are Some of their most criticized songs…. Yet most effective! The entire Noesy album is a middle finger to haters Skz Style! They are iconic!Love ur reactions and so happy ur back with them!

There’s fun fact and reason behind why when u saw skz music they got rock influences in it. It’s because one of the members that named Han Jisung is their own producer of their songs and Han Jisung’s dad used to play in rock band. He said his dad told him that his talent is coming from his dad. That’s why he loves rock music, he can play guitar and wrote his own music because his dad told him to. Stray Kids is one of the true artists out there, they are very passionate about music

You're absolutely right about Kpop artists not confining themselves to one genre, and as a long time Kpop-fan as well as a long time rock/metalhead, I can really see why so many people are surprised by the diversity in kpop. It's just not the norm anymore, and I even remember artists like Linkin Park getting severe backlash for experimenting with genres of music. The cool thing about kpop artists like Stray Kids is that despite their discography oscillating wildly between genres, they still manage to have very clear musical identities. Like, I can hear a Stray Kids song and just KNOW that it belongs to them. It's especially cool because Stray Kids make their own music (and have done so since before their debut), so their discography is basically a musical diary of their lives up to this point. They're painfully honest about everything, and it's just nice to see that reflected in their music. I feel like they have that in common with rock musicians. Anyway I'll stop rambling now, thank you so much for a wonderful reaction, Nick!! Always a pleasure to see musicians I respect react to my favourite boys Stray Kids 😁 Would love to see you react to Awaken, My Side and District 9 by Stray Kids as well!! All these songs have strong rock influences that I think you might enjoy 😉

There is so much that this group has taught me. They taught me to be fearless about being myself and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. I highly recommend checking out the song Mixtape#1 because it has so much meaning. With Stray Kids, their origin and concept alone makes their branding more flexible yet centered. Their album NOEASY proves that because they could go hard like Cheese, but also produce ballads like Gone Away. despite that, they sound like themselves. it's still "Stray Kids" without sounding so redundant and overly familiar to their other songs as if it were recycled. I think, unlike most kpop groups, what gives Stray Kids an edge is their creative freedom and authenticity. kodus to their company giving that freedom, and the authenticity coming from the sincerity poured into the lyrics because the members wrote it themselves.

I think you made a really great point about rock genre being a box. As a rock fan I’ve seen it so many times where artists get criticized for changing their sound and “selling out” if their sound changes. They get criticized if they stop being really heavy but also get criticized if every song sounds too similar. Bands also run the risk of being obsolete if they aren’t able to adapt to the changing scene. It’s really hard. Stray kids has songs with basis in a lot of different genres. I think you’d love side effects, Wolfgang, tortoise and the hare, double knot, awaken. They’re all different genre basis but they’re all so good. I appreciate how stray kids really like to play with their sound. If you ever want to check out a different group (not that I don’t love or appreciate your stray kids reactions) I’d recommend Monsta X. Gambler has a heavy guitar and some Michael Jackson influence. Appreciate you 💜

Idk what to expect but I’m manifesting King For A Day lol like if i see Kellin & your cousins and their band on a single stage that’s it. I’m done for. lol Also! I LOVE that you’re continuing your skz journey, thank you so much for your reaction. Your reactions are so refreshing and interesting seeing everything from a musician’s stand point especially as someone in the rock community. Can’t wait to see more, if you ever decide to watch a live skz performance I think you would like God’s Ddu-du Ddu-du. It was a special performance on a competition show early last yr, & they mashed up BLACKPINK’s Ddu-du Ddu-du and God’s Menu. The performance is Deadpool themed and had recognition from Ryan Reynolds himself and formed a friendship between Stray Kids leader, Bang Chan and Ryan Reynolds.

Once again really enjoyed hearing your comments on a Stray Kids song and MV. Your take on why it is complicated to know who is who was very interesting to me and very true. The (only) constant thing about kpop is the groups evolving their skills and growing into themselves, their appearance changing every few months and their concepts and genres too. They keep an essence of themselves going, something recognizable beyond their voices. It would be interesting to see your reaction and hear comments on more groups and/ or soloists. Especially artists that are seemingly further away from the Rock genre like a reaction to IU - Love poem or Mamamoo - HIP or Hoppipolla - Your Ocean. A reaction to a Stray Kids song with a totally different feel than Cheese or Thunderous or Gods Menu would be very interesting as well. They have song more Ballad style songs like: The View, Mixtape: OH or the cover of 기도 (I'll Be Your Man) they did on Kingdom.

They have edgy songs, edm, more rock inspired, R&B, dance, ballads, even some latin inspired tracks. Also, their B sides slap. My favs to start: Blueprint, Ta, Slump, Scars, The View, Oh, Tortoise and the Hare, Domino (if you're going to watch a video I would suggest the Dance practice as there isn't a full video on this), Silent Cry, Streetlight, Haven, YaYaYa, Red Lights, Placebo, and Boxer. Stray Kids also has some songs with a little bit of rock elements, like District 9 (their debutsong), and YAYAYA. Maybe you could check them out, as well. But honestly every song is worth to check out. I listened to a lot of rock and metal when I grew up and Stray Kids bring a similar kind of vibe, because they are often so hyped up, but they also have some beautiful slow songs in their discoprahie as well. :) Also if you want to get to know the personalities of the boys, then check out some Guidevideos (there are a lot). They will tell you some things about each member and the group in general. Stray Kids also drops a lot of content to watch (with english subtitels) and there are a lot of compilations of them online as well. :)

I will be honest that at the begging Cheese was not my Fav Skz song, however because of the lyrics it's bow become one of my favs. Love the meaning behind the lyrics in Cheese. When I walk into meetings at work now, Cheese often plays in the back of my mind LOL. Wonder what my bosses would thiink if they knew. The meaning of the lyrics for me is that Skz are pretty much saying: Why are you looking for something to critisize about us? Is it fun for you? We are ok and we like who we are. And because we don't care we say Cheese ✌:) One of my favourite part of the MV is when the social media comments scroll during the lirycs " Here comes the nonsense party" :) because they are aware of all the speculations and at times negative comments.. Ah, love my Skids. It's funny how they've helped me through a lot of adulting. 😂

First guy is Felix. Cheese is a 🖕 for the haters. I love it. The "do you think du du is funny" is a synergy to god's menu. The " do you think s headache is funny " is a synergy to side effects. You have almost 100 songs left 😂😂 can't wait so see it. Maybe you will do a guide? 🤔

As everyone's already mentioned, their discography is incredibly diverse. They have everything from ballads to poppy bops to EDM bangers to psytrance to experimental rap to rock and more. Your ears won't get bored. A few other songs than incorporate rock elements you might appreciate (yes, I know others will mention some of these in various combinations): - Awaken - Yayaya - Rock - District 9 - My Side - Grrr - Slump (original is Japanese, but there are also Korean and English, and the English is one of their best English ver songs) - Chronosaurus - Levanter - even Red Lights to some extent I'll reiterate that I mean "incorporate rock elements," not "these are pure rock songs"...because they aren't. SKZ doesn't do a lot of sticking to single genres/styles, even within individual songs. Nonetheless, all of these are great songs and might be to your taste.

I feel like BTS really paved the way for the 4th gen Kpop groups like Stray Kids and Ateez to have sort of, more creative freedom than most Kpop groups previously enjoyed. Their CEO let them explore whatever genre fit the mood they were in, and it made them so successful because they had songs that would appeal to the fans of a variety of different genres. Which led to other music companies having lightbulbs go off in their collective heads. Oh my bad, they weren’t light bulbs, they were dollar signs. (Won signs). And allowing their artists out of the box, so to speak.

it's really interesting to hear your perspective as someone in the music industry! i am excited to see what you think of more of their catalogue, because stray kids crosses genre and structure boundaries like the categories don't even exist in the first place, which is fascinating to me as a music theory nerd! innovators and revolutionaries make the most engaging music in my opinion. one of my favorite SKZ songs is "N/S". it's pretty early in their discography, from the year they debuted as a group, but it's catchy as hell, and the video shows them all being silly and wacky, which i love seeing. Stray Kids has a "street version" music video of N/S, link here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X3eF29Kyd8Tgm9o.html&ab_channel=StrayKids street version is basically the members screwing around the streets of whatever city they were in at the time.
