Catch and Release on these sized fish is very important, they are the breeders, so if you kill them like a lot of people do they won't spawn and there will be less and less fish around, that's the sad reality, so I'm just trying to do my part :)

Yeah brother we are lucky to still have good fishing here in Australia but honestly it's getting worse every year, there not as many fish as there used to be. Mostly because of ill practises and of course the commercial fishing industry - thats the worst! Keen to head over to the states at some stage of sure Florida will be on the list I'm sure, cheers!

Got it on a Lively Lures 5 inch blue bonito mackbait second cast. I got really lucky because I hooked it under its mouth and somehow didnt bite through my 80lb leader! The rod and reel at the time were Shimano Saragosa 10k and Shimano Tcurve stickbait special 7foot9.

In my opinion one of the important thing about choosing locations is done by having knowing what fish you want to target. Once you worked that out, you literally just have to research research research about that fish. For an extreme but simple example is if I wanted to go catch a Spanish Mackerel I would go fish Sydney Harbour! So just know you target and find out where they live / migrate, water temperature is key here... Have fun!

Dang that almost looks like a Wahoo the way his top jaw looked when you held it up. This looks nothing like our kings with the blue back and wavy vertical stripes. When I saw the Rokkit guy clean one their meat is far superior to our mackeral. You guys have got it made!

Release every fish that is in healthy condition for that reason, and for them to have the chance to breed more, the results can only be good!

Wow, great job, that one was huge. Now that there's youtube, the fisherman's fish tails are no more. Now when they say with outstretched arms "i caught one this big" he can now show you. No more posers.

Don't use bait!!!!!!!!!! that's my number one tip. Not only does using bait support the worst kind of destruction to the fisheries, it's also really boring and you catch the bottom aka weed all the time! I suggest using artificial baits like we do, hard body lures or soft baits. SOLVED

for sure top water lures will help assuming that you're talking about an alternative to live or cut bait bottom fishing but if you're talking about floating seaweed, like after a big storm, nothing much will help. I fish in Bali and seaweed is a big problem both fishing with dropper rigs and top water lures, I guess because seaweed farming is practiced here. also plastic bags are a major headache. unfortunately, I have a bad shoulder so I can't throw big lures for long periods but like cavy said bottom fishing can be boring as hell. currently I am trying weighted casting/popping floats that can be used with a wide variety of baits both artificial and natural...for example with a jig or a bucktail (Taylor aka bluefish love it and I reckon jacks aka GT will too) or even a sinking stick bait. or for natural bait you have live fish, shrimp or crabs or dead cut/shaped baits (for grouper etc). they can be set to present the bait in the depth you choose deep, middle or shallow and can be worked like a popper to stimulate the fish. if using live or cut bait you should use circle hooks to avoid gut hooked fish, because even if you are trying to catch dinner you might hook an undesirable (as food) species that still deserves to live. hope that helps.

@@CavyFishing going off of the head and eye shape its more akin to the Gulf style king mackerel with the stripes of a Wahoo. Every ocean has their own species and some are shared. This could be a King mackerel style fish based where you are but with different physical traits like the stripes. best to consult with local experts on an exact species en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narrow-barred_Spanish_mackerel im thinking its this one
