That’s because Aaron Fletcher meticulously developed, what was state of the art animatronics for the time. All Chuck E. Cheese’s did was put some basic moving mechanical pieces into stuffed animals. True animatronics is very intricate, down to blinking, face movement, head tilting etc.

Nope, they used some of this audio for the last one however. The last showtape only used Rolfe and earl, as the center stage and billy bobs stages were being converted to CEC

@@S.J.C._Entertainment Then again they only used those Rolfe & Earl segments in the out of business hours and was only instructed to use it during business hour if in the emergency situation in which the remodeling of the other two stages are not complete on time. The Rolfe & Earl showtape SPP made are pretty much Rolfe & Earl talking about the upcoming changes and some cyberstar clips getting shown on the TV screens.

I take back what I said about them being creepy, they are AWESOME! Somehow the franchise took a step backwards with chuck e cheese... I remember the names, Dook Larue, Billy Bob, Mitzi, Beach Bear, Rolfe and Earl, Looney Bird, ChooChoo, Birthday bird and, Uncle Klunk.

Dook (the drummer) is like "I wanna go back home to Showbiz Pizza" :( he looks so sad! Yes I know it's because his mask is melting from the lights and the heat.

I was afraid of these guys until they moved. Then I was impressed by how smooth they moved and loved them.

I was still a baby when these guys went away so naturally I got introduced to Chuck E Cheese first and was blown away by them! Now as an adult discovering The Rock Afire Explosion I'm obsessed and love them more than the Chuck E Cheese band. My favorite is Beach Bear ♡♡♡

Showbiz pizza bought chuck e cheese and after 1992 converted every location to chuck e cheese and did away with the rock-afire explosion band. Nothing was stolen, they just made some horrible changes after aquiring the chuck e cheese brand. They should have probably kept both brands running if anything cause I like many don't like that rat chuck and his purple friend, but love rock-afire explosion band.

And mostly one person sings while the rest just blankly state at them, I hate that. Mostly in RAE they don't look at each other unless they're talking

I loved these guys so much. I had a showbiz pizza about 15 min away from my little town. We went there all the time, I was scared to death of Fats too! I remember every time we went one of them was in the process of being fixed or breaking down in the middle of the show. Was still fascinated by them though. I still have the vinyl my parents got me for my 5th birthday. Thnx for letting us know these guys are still "alive!"

Also, since they used compressed air, a leak in a valve or dirty air cylinder can cause issue's such as hand not moving etc due to poor air flow. Ahh these were the days, no ardrino circuit boards still used a grey box controller to make the lights and air valves work and play music. A lot of the movements were triggered by tones that opened and closed the valves and cylinders by the grey box computer controller.

i like that Mitzi's hair is braided, shows that they're being taken care of best they could. this band is definitely one of the better quality ones.

I'm tired of comments about five nights at freddys all over videos like this it's just annoying

For anyone looking for a Rock-afire Explosion experience, there are at least two in operation in the eastern US. There is a small museum in Pace, Florida called "Snap's Blast from the Past Museum", it's privately run but open to the public. Just make a reservation ahead of time. Even bigger is "Billy Bob's Super Wonderland" in Barboursville, West Virginia (near Huntington and the KY/OH border). This is as close as you're going to get to a modern Showbiz Pizza experience. I hate them for getting rid of the old guys :( they were always my favorites, I wish I had a time machine... IDEA! *goes to room grabs wrench starts hitting piece of wood with it* there! Actually some restaurants had renamed to Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza before changing the characters

I miss these guys so much, I have been told the story from my mother about them letting us go up to the stage to meet the band and I was put up there and said "I love you Billy Bob!" LOL...I wish kids these days could experiance the magic of these charaters...I had totally forgotten about the wolf on the left side of the stage, then someone else mentioned the sun and moon I had totally forgotten about them too!! I still love you Billy Bob!

There's a public show in West Virginia called Billy Bobs wonderland, and they just got restored. I went, it's cool.

It came from Funtime Pizza Circus 1983-1986, 1988-90's.

I remember 3 years ago I found your video...made me laugh..and I was amazed by these guys! This video led me to some of aarons other videos.. And that's how I found his channel...been subscribed to Aaron for 3 years now...and I still watch his videos till this day!

ohhhh myyyy gaaawd!! I used to love AND be terrified of these guys back in the Showbiz days.....this is amazing!

Some trivia: Showbiz Pizza actually bought at Chuck E. Cheese, not the other way around, but Showbiz Pizza decided to use the characters that Chuck E. Cheese already had instead of the Rock-a-Fire Explosion characters. The decision was made to scrap these characters because this band was never owned by Showbiz Pizza but they had to pay the owners compensation to use them. By using the new characters, which they now owned, they didn't have to pay a fee to use them.

They’re actually look so “alive”. I love it!!

I noticed. In England, can't remember where, I saw the show in amazing condition. Clean characters, no dust on the stage, all the lights worked and no damage on the characters. The only difference was Mitzie had on a different outfit. possible because the costume had gotten really nasty.

Sadly they are just sat there gathering dust now... After a greybox + air compressor breakdown. Let's hope this show will be back on the road in the not-too-distant future!

this is a great video. they are in amazing condition. especially seeing as they are a travel band!

I’m glad you found the Rock-afire Explosion once again during a holiday in alcohol country, but! what I do find disturbing is the fact that your childhood all took place in…West Des Moines, Iowa- *You poor poor soul*

They look good here, but i don't know if that's just me or the air pressure is a little bit high, also fatz mouth isn't closing at all when is not talking. And beach bear paw looks like is going to get out his body Edit: and mitzi's mask looks a little bit melted
