What's good about it? It's a pretty typical Futurama style rip off with"Totally Random" thrown on top. Not to mention the level of potty humor. This is just Ahhh, Real Monsters with Robots. Only it's nowhere near as good. I don't think a teenage or preteen me would of found this funny. Just saying... I haven't laughed once or found any of these ideas creative or entertaining. 3/10 with all 3 points going to animation. I guess the character's designs are relatively unique. And the voice actors are all industry standby's but even there they don't do anything creative with the voice talent....just doing their bare minimum, normal voices. Take Dana Snyder for example... His work on Squidbillies is phenomenal and put in a lot of effort to create a fantastic character. Here he's just....Dana Snyder. You know what I mean? And seriously potty humor, from a show about robots?!?!? WTF??? Butt Monsters.......Ha....Ha....Ha..... Ohhh Man....So HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! 😒 Farting Robots, a recipe for hilarity.

You can tell that the creators were in a lot of pain when they made this cartoon. The social commentary aged well.

Apparently this show was cancelled for being too dark and violent for foreign markets… But I don’t see anything in this show that was any more “adult” than what you saw on Regular Show and that lasted 8 seasons. I think it’s more likely CN just had no interst in the show and the “too dark to export” reason given was BS

The "too dark to export" reason isn't BS when you realize that a lot of foreign Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels edit for things like rude language, suggestive humor, and actions that are considered dangerous, anti-social, discriminatory, or degrading.

I love this show It’s a kids show, but it has so much dark shit going on is insane The fact they got away with this is amazing, even if it was for less then a year. Also: whenever there’s a complicated sequence / chaotic fight scene I go “oh hey! Super jail thing!”

Coming back to this show 13 years later (?!?!?) and my GOODNESS they got away with a lot (also Gilbert Gottfried's voice just slapped my soul out of my body I forgot he was in this)

"the more we talk, the worst we come off" I felt that 100%

If this aired on Adult Swim, it probably would've had a better chance

Sadly, it, like Superjail and Robotomy, has ended/is canceled, either because of money reasons or the Adult Swim executives don't like it).

Exactly this show lasted three months. I didn't even get to grow up on it lol

i barely remember this show, but it actually had pretty good writing, solid animation, incredible voice acting, and a fully fleshed out robot world. the only thing that could have improved this show would be a more vivid art style. I get that they are trying to go for an industrial post apocalyptic world but the limited color and dull art style really diminished the chance for this show to hold the attention of a wider span of younger viewers.

This show looked really expensive to produce, but it is still cool

That's one of the reasons why it got canned after a few episodes: it was expensive to produce and no international Cartoon Network channel wanted it because it was too violent and crude.

I think the visual style & basic premise of the show had interesting potential. Some of the jokes kinda come & go (not big on some of the grossout), but I like what they where going for. Plus, you can tell Superjail! people might've worked on it. Reminds me how nick let Invader Zim pass.. good times

Yet another example of a cartoon not getting its chance it deserves to grow and develop more. The art/animation style and the writting is immaculate

I remember seeing this when it was on TV! It’s weird that this show lasted so shortly that it can literally be compiled into a movie-length video.

I never thought I would see the day that I would see special Ed robots, but here I am now.

This show had oh so much potential, but they had to throw it away

The only particular episode I remember having watched all those years ago was the one with Frenemy, which I always understood to be a parody of Facebook. I really liked the time travel scene, but the part where Frenemy kept popping up around class and interrupting the students during their assignments was hilarious.

I think Insanus would fit quite snuggly into the Warhammer 40k setting. The robots can basically be translated as xenos war machines that formed their own society after their creators died out( either through some cataclysm or by their robots turning on them). They’re like a fusion between the Orks and Men of Iron. Only difference is that they’re smarter,more unified, and organized than the Orks. They could act as comic relief alongside the green boyz.

I love shows with non-human characters with a “culture”. Like how Freaktown prides itself on the gross and weird, or Jimmy Two Shoes’ “evil is good” philosophy!

I love what little we got of this show but feel like it would've done a lot better on Adult Swim rather than Cartoon Network. I remember hearing somewhere that Adult Swim passed on it due it being "too tame" yet it was also slightly too mature for CN

ngl this show was wild kinda wish it got extended. Also the first episode really predicted how messed up social media was going to get in just a couple years pretty cool.

The third episode, No Child Left Benign (very clever pun), kinda hits considering the "Sunshine Class" is Robotomy's take on Special Ed classes. The robots of that class are still in high school (teenagers and young adults) but they act childish, cheerful, don't want to be violent and are all about sunshine and lollipops, thus their "faulty psycho-chips" (meaning no interest in violence in their chips). Considering Insanus' system and society, they have to partake in the class they only have to attend and like what Thrasher said, they have their own bus. And unsurprisingly, because of how Insanus works and the whole class turning out to be a rocket ship to leave the planet, they had to be demolished in the sun for the better. Damn.

I SWEAR THERE WERE A FEW MORE EPISODES! I think one was a valentine episode and the other ended with their planet was destroyed

For an immortal warmachine an eternity in slavery is just a blink, but ninth grade is hell.

I remember being the only kid in my 4th grade class who loved this show. All of my friends thought it was way too weird.

We really slept on this show of all things. Bro DMX was on here. This was back when warner bros were really that guy and could sign checks whenever they felt like it. Then again they stuck around and we got super jail and now ball masterz which is suppose to return with another season soon.

Algorithm blessed with an amazing show that got cancelled, I understand the love. The comedy and animation is quality, the characters and world are actually very well developed and ahead of its time. Damn shame this got axed, especially with the cast of VAs.

I was always a fan of stuff like this. This and robot and monster

I remember seeing one or two episodes when I was really young, certainly the last episode, and I remember it having enough of an effect on me to write a Club Penguin fanfiction where what was basically an expy of Insaneus invaded a planet full of Puffles. I legitimately forgot what this show even was for so long, that seeing it properly and in full is a surreal experience.

I vaguely remember this show because I like the art style and because this specific scene at 6:50 with the brain-skull guy just randomly pops into my head at random. I don't know why, it just does.
