Robotic Solutions - Kuka CNC Milling Robot

Ғылым және технология

Robotic Solutions integrates robotic cells for automation needs. This video is an example of a part being milled out of renboard. The custom turntable the board is being cut on is meant to rotate pieces to be cut as large as 17 feet in diameter allowing 360 degrees of access. Smaller turntables are standard with our milling cells to add the 7th axis.
Robotic CNC milling cells are also able to have an addition of a linear rail for more movement from side to side with the robot to allow cutting of larger materials. For more information please visit www.roboticsolutionsinc.com

I thought so. I used ton's of this stuff at Boeing during the prototypes of the 757 and 767. I love the part where you can make a mistake and go back with Bondo and fill the mistake and continue the cut. It's great stuff to experiment on. Many machine shops where I worked at used Robot's. But, nothing of this caliber. Thanks for the reply

The material being cut is renboard of a prototype part. They can then use the part to measure for accuracies or create a mold from that prototype If you were an artist you would use a system with a smaller turntable. Where a finished sculpture could only stand at 6 inches tall. We then can take a 3D scan of the sculpture and enlarge it to statue size and cut a replica to then make a mold for replication!

Thank you. Most people are impressed when they see the robot in action. This was a test cut for a customer. The robot in the video, along with the 17 foot diameter rotary, where used to machine the Heat Shield for the Orion robot NASA shot up about 3 years ago. Space age materials machined to tight tolerances. The Heat Shield performance exceeded NASA goals. Our robots are used to machine everything from 2lb foam to aluminum and space age materials.

How about precision? Less than traditional moulding machine CNC or comparable?

Piotr Jakimowicz Not better then 0.1 mm not comparable to CNC, how ever they are cheaper and more flexible, for prototypes of for applications where accuracy isn't the most important aspect, for example if you are going to grind/polish the product afterwards it can be the way to go! :)

Is that a foam block? The end mill is hanging out there quite a ways. Whats the actual material to be cut using the machine? Show me where I could use this? If I were an Artist and needed to make a sculpture and needed to get 360 degrees of the object, I could see the need for this device. But then, I wouldn't be an artist. I'd be a programmer/machinist. Have you sold any of these ? What were the applications for the purchase?

Someone didn't pay attention during training. Never put your fleshy bits into the work area of the spinny/smashy/cutty bits. Cool machine though. Try not to become a workplace injury statistic.
