Robot Vacuum that recognises cables? | Ecovacs Deebot T9 Plus Review

Ғылым және технология

Robot Vacuums mostly don't recognise small objects and cables, which often leads to an additional cleanup before every cleaning cycle. This video will answer whether the Deebot T9 is finally smart enough to recognise certain types of cables and avoid them.
Ecovacs just recently updated their product line with the release of the Deebot N8 Pro and the Deebot T9. I've reviewed both, so you'll have a better overview which of the two is the right robot vacuum for your needs.
As I mentioned in the Video, please use washable mopping pads instead of one time use pads. Save money and produce less waste at the same time ➡️geni.us/IERC

    Thank you so much for the link to buy the T9! I've been looking for one of those everywhere! By any chance, do you know where I can buy a white auto-empty station for it? (I'm in the UK) (Great video by the way, I've literally been waiting for you to post this video since I can't find any info on the T9 anywhere else)

    Hey Cyber King, always happy to help. One cool thing about the Ecovacs Robots is that the chargers and the Auto Empty Stations works regardless from your robot type. Meaning you can buy what ever station and color your like and it'll work with your deboot. I'd recommend you to grab it through any of the other european amazon stores, cause they can deliver to the UK and sometimes even cheaper😉. The black (geni.us/DZzR) and white (geni.us/5J7LvC) Versions are both available for example in Germany.

    Hello!! Thank you for the wonderful review. Based on your review I purchased this unit and happy with it. I have two questions. 1) what is the difference between AREA CLEANING & AUTO CLEANING. 2) I assigned only two particular area in my apt. But my deebot t9 ended up cleaning whole apartment , do you know what may be the reason? TIA

    Hey imran, 1) Area cleaning is when the robot is just cleaning a certain area. These are created after the first clean and can be modified after to fit your actual room layout. 2) in the cleaning schedule you need to change the setting from auto to area

    hi! :) Thanks for reviews!!! Quick question: Can you recommend bestone for dark brown floor? No carpets, only laminate and tiles, also two cats at home :) no stairs, just flat about 50 m2. p.s. Quick question #2: is there any large difference for mopping between N8 and T9 ?

  • @AttiBear

    @AttiBear

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Gosha, my pleasure! I'm having black tiles in the hallway and the Deebots never had any issue with it. Not even the first one I bought 4 years ago. The 50m2 is also no problem for any of their models. The cats however can be challenging for some Robot Vacuums manufacturers depending on the fur of your pets. The newer models have a little bit different brushes so even longer hair has a hard time getting tangled. The T9 AIVI edition will be available soon and have more suction power and rubber brushes that supposed to be better in combination with pets. Regarding the mopping, the N8 only has a regular mop while the T9 has the OZMO Plate. The regular mopping plate simply put is only dragged behind the Robot, while the OZMO Plate oscillates and has a significantly higher cleaning performance. Essentially it doesn't matter too much which robot you are getting. Having the option to let them run daily due to the cats, you'll notice a massive difference in terms of "clean" in your apartment. If you really want clean clean so to say, the T9 or T9 AIVI is a no brainer and the street price difference of the individual models isn't too steep 😉. Hope this helps you a bit.

    The reason it went over your audio cable is probably because it's so low and straight and looks more like the edge of a carpet rather than a cable. For your phone, it's a very flat object and probably too low to recognize. It's also reflective so that might have something to do with the lasers not recognizing it.

You also should consider, we are still talking about "just" a piece of cloth 🤷‍♂️. In the end it's up to you how you operate it, I can only tell you how I'm using it and how it works for me 😉

  • @AttiBear

    @AttiBear

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes it does. The same way it increases the vacuum performance once it’s on a carpet. However sometimes the cleaning itself takes longer if it has to run along the carpet. That’s why I like to manually add no mop zones. This way it’s not looking for carpets and completes the cycle faster

  • @AttiBear

    Hey Antonio, the T9 Plus doesn't care for visible light. It fully relies on Lasers which don't need light. Regarding the other questions no. It always vacuums and mops at the same time when the OZMO Pro Module is installed. It will however avoid any areas with a carpet. So you can let it run without the fear that it'll mop your carpets 😉

    Does the T9 allow for manual movement to other floors? E.g. the station would be at ground floor and I would move it to the first floor to have it clean over there. What would happen? Would it recognize this? And how about the stairs? Can’t find anything about preventing it to fall downstairs.

  • @AttiBear

    @AttiBear

    For multi floor operation I’d recommend to buy another charging dock. That’s about 25€. It automatically recognizes stairs even if they are black. Every time you move it between the floors it recognizes where it is and cleans accordingly

    What's better this or the Roborock S7 plus?

  • @SimpPro101

    TLDR: If you want the better performance moping mode and better small object detection, get the Ecovac T9+. If you have surfaces to be mopped in areas that can only be accessed through carpeted areas and better home mapping, get the Roborock S7+. Every other area they are comparable. Long version: I've been deep diving these two models. I'll be focusing on their differences here rather than the things they do the same. Roborock S7+ PROS - Better physical vacuum head than all other models on the market (except the Roomba as they have the patented dual brush) and gets a better seal to the carpet or hard floor, which translates to not needing to push the motor as hard during suction, extending battery life during operation. - Seems to have a superior mapping and room navigation and therefore has a more through clean as far as floor surface % - The lifting mop means you can leave it on there between mops/vacuums without having to change it or remove it frequently, as opposed to other models where you need to apply and remove between uses. - The mop lifting between areas of the house works flawlessly and means the unit can mop in rooms that can only be accessed via carpeted areas. It means it can also mop hallways with carpet runners without getting the carpet wet, which is huge. - Object navigation looks pretty good from many videos I've seen but seems to have too high tolerance for light objects. CONS - No bagless stand (same for Ecovacs, but still...) - It doesn't tell you in the app when the vacuum is full - Any lip larger than 2cm will need a ramp (eg, tiled entry to a bathroom or thick shag rug) - Vacuum is always active when mopping except during the heaviest mop mode (can't remember what it's called) Ecovacs Deebot T9+ PROS - Seems to have the best mopping on a dual purpose robo vac on the market - Very powerful vacuum motor, at least one review mentioned having to turn down the suction power on some carpet types due to raw power - Dual floor rotor brushes as opposed to Roborocks Single rotor - Not mentioned by Ecovac, but if the rotors manage to get tangled in a cable, they will reverse their spin to dislodge the tangle then continue the clean if possible - Object detection seems to be slightly better than Roborock, but seems to also get "phantom" detections due to sensitivity CONS - Mapping not quite as good as Roborock - Having to remove the mop head between mops and vacuums meaning this is less automatic than the Roborock S7, especially when the bot has to go through carpeted areas to get to the area it wants to mop - if you have lighter carpet you don't want to drag a dirty wet cloth across your carpet I've spent weeks looking at Robot vacuum reviews. I was completely sold on the Roborock S7+ until I saw this Ecovac one as an alternative. The mopping power of this unit I think is enough to put it ahead of the Roborock as in all other areas they are very, very similar. It just comes down to if the Robot will be going between different areas of the house to mop or if it can access the dock to charge without going over those carpeted areas during a mop cycle. If not, go with Roborock as the lifting mop is actually a game changer in this regard and very similar in all other areas. I don't think I'd be disappointed with either purchase but I'm specifically after something with a great mopping ability. I look forward to putting a meat ball in the air freshener of the Ecovac make my house smell delicious.

    @@shanew7361 it’s great in everything except with shoes, toys, cables, edges of carpets(but this is issue with all robovacs). Also, emptying the bin is not as convenient as in Ecovacs. The vibrarise does not solve problem for all carpet types. I returned my product within a month as the issues I mentioned still annoys me.
