That was a pretty good test run
I've been thinking about this for our shop. I think they need a plow mode for this to be really useful. Have a slotted plow that catches the big stuff but lets the small stuff through to the vacuum. Have a designated location for it to plow larger items up into a pile to be shoveled into the garbage. Better yet have a ramp and a bin it pushes stuff up and into. Around the house this could also be useful for toys. At home, we have a higher end Roomba with the self empty. It works good but it seems like more work than just sweeping getting the room ready for it to run. We have a 2 year old and he gets his toys everywhere. Then there is stuff like cell phone chargers and laptop chargers it loves to get tangled in.

Ha, interesting. Reminds me of these babies. amzn.to/3kP3EQN I would think that could be fairly easily 3D printed to test out the idea.
I was going to buy Baby Pants, but after seeing this video, realized I could just run a robot vacuum on the sheet during operations. Wish me luck!

You can do it!
Your video really inspired me to try this robot for my outdoor lanai. Thank you so much.
Been running a roborock s5max for over a year in the shop. It's for getting to areas under the machines and to get that last few %. Great for keeping fine dust from building up.

That's great to hear. That's exactly what we're looking for too.
I had an idea to try this the other day and luckily I found your video. I think it will work great for me, especially getting underneath vehicles which are parked for long periods of time. Thanks for the video.

Thats awesome 👍
My thought has been to just attach a cordless shop vac on top of a cheap robot vac. It wouldn’t be able to go under things, but it should handle higher amounts of sawdust easier.

How many square feet is it cleaning? Did you get it to map all of it successfully?

Soon actually 👍
After 3 months is this still working for you in the shop?

Every day! It has its quirks but it does a pretty great job
I recommend getting a robot without a spinning LiDAR sensor. That LiDAR sensor isn’t going to last in an area like that because of dust, no offense.

Still going strong. It’s paid for itself many times over already anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The LiDAR models are significantly better at mapping though, and aren't showing any real reliability issues.
Is it still working?
