Robot Surveillance Balls Can Swim And Roll On Any Terrain

This is Guardbot, a surveillance robot that's able to manoeuvre on any terrain, even having the ability to swim. The device comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from as small as 5 inches to a model that is 7ft in diameter.
Guardbot is fitted with two surveillance cameras, a batter that can last for 25 hours, microphones and GPS, allowing it to be controlled via satellites as well as remotely.
It's currently still in development and the military are looking into using it for future deployments.
Could Guardbot be the future of mobile surveillance?

I love how they say "but it could cost as much as $100,000" like they think that's gonna stop the military from buying this thing?

But you can use drones for surveillance and a lot cheaper and won't be stopped by hills, slopes, stairs. So why would anyone even bother with this ball?

It won't cost 100k to build tho. James (xRobots) builds the BB8 unit and it's the exact same principle. The only difference is that this is rubber and is bigger for longer lasting range. So unless it comes mounted with guns i'm calling bullshit.

the problem immediately understood is that batteries suck and this thing could only roll around for 30 min or so. For a quick little mission, that might be fine. But what you really want is a power source that will let it go for hours ... days.... Or, you want to be able to beam power too it using Tesla tech from the early 1900s.

instead of a sphere, why not a tetrahedron, with 4 spherical wheels at each apex. Also, it needs to be able to climb walls too like a bug using some sort of adhering tech that it could deploy on the wall, and like a rock climber, go up.
