I agree with corazza, roblox isn't forcing kids to make games for them, they can choose if they want to pursue being a roblox dev. Making roblox games is a way for people (including kids) to earn some money.

I can also agree that it is good for teenagers to learn how to develop games and get some money in the way, they could earn robux and get devex once they reach the age to get money. But now hiring teenagers is a different story, and without mentioning the fact that's illegal, he basically admitted the quality of some seriously developed games on the platform are work made by children, wich is awful and you can't just tell that to investors.

This is why i would be careful with playing Roblox as a adult.

This is really weird, I feel like that guy just kinda said what came to his mind instantly which in that situation was a terrible choice. If he had just thought before he said that, all of this mighta not have happened. In my opinion, and as a minor myself, I think it’s minor’s decision if they want to make games, UGC or anything like that. It’s not a “job”, Roblox is a sandbox platform that compensates users- that’s all. If you think in that kind of logic, KZread, for example, is doing the same thing- there’s a ton of minors posting to KZread and getting ad revenue, etc, and KZread also gets a cut. Yes, it’s different, but I don’t think Roblox should be getting in trouble for just making a platform, similar to other ones like KZread.

The part that could be tricky is that game creators provide content for payment, which can (sometimes) count legally as being employed. A lot of factors go into this, but this is sort of a basic statement i can give. Roblox itself might not target young creators directly, but they do make profit off of what they create on the platform. That said, i don't really think this can count as blatant exploitation. The whole legal pr statement roblox did was mildly funny though

Honestly its more so roblox exploits their devs and users, Rather than just children tbh.

Like I said Jack. Kids are cruel AND I LOVE MINERS.

Basically if a kid makes a game and it gets successful, good for them. But if it doesn't, then oh well. I wouldn't really call it exploitation, but I also wouldn't call it "hiring" them. Pretty much giving the kids a pat on the back for making something so successful. The child probably needs to have an adult's Paypal or bank connected, since kids themselves can't exactly make an income without the legality being questioned. Other than that the income is robux, not real money, if a Paypal or bank account isn't connected and they can't convert the robux.
