“Find your opponent’s weakness, and make them suffer for it!” -Master Shifu

Weapons that have a spinning flourish are also pretty effective at forcing a false parry or block from the opponent, however the effectiveness depends on the attack pattern of the weapon (stabbing weapons may not benefit from this trick as much as slashing/swinging weapons) and the skill level of the opponent. It may not work if their skills are too low to even know how to defend, or too good to blunder enough for you to be able to punish.

@@mangotheleo4567 Moving in as if you will go on the offensive is also a good way to make a convincing flourish bait, I've also seen people flourish to cover up the windup of their weapons (works better with light weapons), however if used too many times it will probably just serve as a telegraph for your opponent.

I usually throw two feints before i throw a real swing

Players who know how to block/or parry when they face me: I am in their face and making them parry by mental attacks

I often get called a spammer because I use arming sword with a ton of feints lol. Works like 80% of the time.

Just started playing bulwark yesterday today I bought exe ace to see why people use it and I might start using it

thanks im level 13 rn, and its a bit discouraging having to fight level 4000+ players and just get bodied all the time, but after watching this vid im seeing a bit more success. any good starter weapons? right now im just using the starter weapon and the dagger just cause it looks cool

That’s great to hear! All weapons are well balanced and it really doesn’t matter which to start with, it really depends on your play style. Typically smaller weapons are fast paced while larger weapons are slower paced. The long sword(which is the starter weapon) is a good halfway point.

If you want a decent half-way between dagger and longsword, try out either the arming sword or the rapier

Ngl strongest trick for newbies is when ur opponent does parry do feint after parry ends they ll do block so break the block with punc and m1

As a Zweihander user, spammers are dumb, even with the baby weapon (za rapier), i can't time the punch tho, when they block you can punch them and it's going to be like a ripose

i found when im fighting i like to start by blocking their attacks then to catch them off guard i parry them

i'm a fist only plus blindness since i started the game, people use spammer as an excuse most of the time unlike this video, as an exemple, once i kicked a guy to death and for the next 40 minutes he kept saying " scum fist usrer" "spammer" "no skill required to use fists" but one thing you'll notice from lower lvls is that when they use as an exemple again, executioners axe, they don't rlly feint cuz they think you are thinking they will feint and never change it

tips: if someone does kick - hit combo with dagger, sweat up vs dagger and gunbai by walking away you can (sometimes, it's not reliable) prevent opponent from hitting you (due to low range and server ping) don't call every light weapon user a spammer (they killed you like this because you allowed them to) if your weapon's windup is faster, try canceling your opponent's attack by hitting them kicks can push your opponent back and space them if someone is only dragging you can walk inside their weapon's hitbox and parry/block it get the feel of every weapon's windups, fail hit penalties etc.

Any tips on how to counter feinting with uh let me think, a rapier perhaps? I made the mistake of dueling a friend of mine all the way into the 200s and now I barely know how to play the game beyond swing, block, parry, and punch, and even then we never used punch (he sees it as cheap and dishonorable)

There are a couple counter plays to feints. I haven’t played the game since my last upload and there was a huge update to the fight mechanics after I stopped playing. But here are a few: 1: specifically with faster weapons like rapier you can use the longer time between swings (since they have to feint then swing again) and you can just swing through the feints and hit them. Sometimes if they don’t stop trying to feint you can just keep poking them. If they slow down and parry/block then you get some think time. With slower weapons you can try the same thing just slightly less effective. 2. Try to block more. Blocking is usually a lot less punishing than parrying. Just be careful because they could punch you so don’t block too much. Only as much as you need to. 3. Try and learn their play style. Get into their head and try to think like they do. It’s weird typing it but it gets easier with more experience to just kind of know when they are feinting or not. Also punching is definitely not dishonorable or cheap! There is always a counter to something and everything has a purpose. That’s what I love about Bulwark.

@@mangotheleo4567 Thank youuu! I'll try my best to implement these as best I can into my playstyle, although I'm not wholly confident I can. I have legal blindness (around 2160 vision) and tend to panic a lot when things stop going my way, so I'm not sure if I can pull this off, but I most certainly will try.
