Honestly, I prefer old boomboxes than this. We had much more freedom with the old ones, there are no ads and you can actually choose your own songs.

There is stuff like SoundService.RespectFilteringEnabled or syncing music by RemoteEvent but then again, they probably will not make UGC music pass client-server boundary, especially ones that aren't added by the place owner

This seems really cool, but I think most of the charm people had with boomboxes was that you could use them in any game that either has them free or gamepass, and being able to share audios of memes with others. As a music enjoyer, I really do like that Roblox still cares about music in their games... but as a PC user, I might as well just be using KZread, especially as the songs I like are less known. It does the same thing. If you can't hear each other's music in-game, then it's literally just Spotify, which in turn is just KZread with loads of ads.

they should make it that you can decide whenever you want to hear music from other players or not. The point of boomboxes was to play songs with friends

Sorry, but until Roblox allows us to play private audio ids in games without getting them muted again, then I'm giving this a hard pass. I literally have a curated list of music of my own that I simply cannot use because I can't make it public or share it with games that I want to use it on.

If only you can hear it you might aswell just open KZread in another tab and loop it and you have way more audio to listen to.

Yeah, nah, if this is what it's gonna be like in every game then it lost me completely at "Only you can listen." No point in not just muting it and using KZread Music instead at that point.

Back in the days, I didn't really use social media. Only spending most of my time playing Roblox and watching KZread. And Boombox was one of the major things I knew if a new song dropped and it made me know most of the artists (yes I knew most of the artists from Roblox).

I'm sick of ads I guess I'd be sticking with listening to songs on youtube with an adblocker

They're adding fucking KZread Ads to Roblox boomboxes now? At this point I'd rather not have them at all. If nobody else can hear it anyway then.. what's the point? Just open KZread in another tab and there you go. Who the hell's gonna use these beyond just for a meme/to see how bad it is?

This might only apply to me but i uploaded a lot of videogame songs on my account, some costing up to 350 robux based on the songs' lengths. Doubt it will happen but at least a partial refund from uploading said songs would be cool.

At least with KZread there’s only 1-2 unskippable ads most of the time. If this is the direction Roblox is going with music, I wouldn’t want any part of that.

The issue with the audio update is you cant use global audios from soundtracks or sound effects like engine sounds, if they had more features for copyright detection the audio update would never come out

damn..... i thought we could finally public our audios

I think ill just continue to listen to music on my phone while playing roblox...

I might as well just stick with Spotify, there I can at least choose what I listen to, and on PC, there are no skip limits.

Roblox updates are like bipolar. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions! Sometimes it’s a good update most of times it’s a horrible update. Roblox goes through more phases than the average bipolar teen. We go from UGC items to no more audio to Mics to 17+ games to brain rot games getting more popularized to this bs. I wonder what the outcomes would have been if Erik Cassel was alive today. No More by Manfred Minnich, Town Talk by Gerhard Narholz, Happy Music - Happy People by Sammy Burdson & Larry Robbins, Cry For More by Hannes Treiber & Wesley Plass, Lazy Sunday by Duncan Lamont, and Indigo by Milan Pilar. These are the best non copyrighted songs by Roblox that’s probably the best you’ll get on radios right now. But I still miss playing The Beatles on my radio in some games. 😢 Especially playing Rocket Man in Iron Man simulator that was probably the best memory I have associated with Roblox music. Edit: I hate this new update, old radios were so much better. I don’t want to be listening to freaking Billy eyelash while playing a damn Obby I might as well just go to KZread and play a song, especially since no one else around you can hear it. The only good thing to come out of that part of the update is there won’t be any more inappropriate or loud annoying songs playing by other idiots in the server blasting their music anymore.
