Robin Williamson - A Tale of the Deeds of the Tuatha Dé Danann - Megalithomania 2009

CLICK HERE to download, or get DVD of the full length lecture: www.megalithoma... and here: store.payloadz.... - Filmed at the Megalithomania Conference in Glastonbury on 23rd May 2009 by Nautilus AV Productions.
A bardic account of the two battles of Moytura, the sacred megalithic complex in Sligo. From the magical lore of ancient Ireland, this tale recounts conflicts of the ancestors at the dawn of the world. Stark, strange, beautiful, violent and hinting always at hidden truths, this of all ancient Celtic stories presents an insight into Druidic allegorical teachings.
Robin Williamson, founder in the 60's of the influential Incredible String Band and the Merry Band of the 70's, has been a key figure at the forefront of the storytelling revival in Europe and America since the 80's. He has authored a number of books including The Craneskin Bag (re-telling and re-versifications of Celtic lore) and Celtic Bards, Celtic Druids (co-authored with R.J. Stewart). Robin is Honorary Chief Bard of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.

I'm from Canada and my grandpie raised me Irish Catholic. He never talked about being Irish much. He grew up here. His father was from here. Our family has been here a long time, but they are mostly all Irish, and all Catholic. I had an air about me as a child that made me intrigued by fairies. I naturally loved nature and mythology and all of those things even though I didn't have internet even in the age of internet! and was shy. It was like these old stories fell into my lap through all of the stories I read as a child. I didn't realize that they came to me. And now I get to hear this online randomly hahah! I didn't know this was a thing in Ireland....it sounds like church lol!

You might consider leaving Canada and Catholicism and returning to Erin. Or just keep Erin with you wherever you are. ∆

Perfect and in tradition. A great oral storytelling of Irish/Celtic history. I laughed out loud, I felt reflection many times but ultimately I learned about my personal history which I deeply enjoyed

Wonderful, these islands have such a wonderful history and culture, such a shame that it’s not encouraged by the authorities and such like.

Irish cosmogony fascinating. I believe the Ionians (Milesians) also exerted an influence on the Irish or vice versa. They were the founders of Greek cosmogonical philosophy.

It's been a long way from a Connecticut motel swimming pool to this point, old friend. And haven't you made an able, learned and nimble bard of yourself. You're welcome forever in my feasting hall - er the one I might have built by the time you get here.

Why do they only have 1 l of everthing? Because we carry their other 1 across the saddest thread that has led us to the new rpoch! The hairy golden hare has been loosed or lost ? Together we have seeded the Earth and we triumphantly carry or trees of all time to the Summer skies. We have beaten the Men in Black and the Chritmas tree has lit up to take our rainbow warrior t't have through the portal to the always island!! We don

he is a very good story telling, but his pronunciation of names is awful, most people who do not speak Irish will excuse themselves for incorrect pronunciation whereas he just keeps going! its obvious he did not hear the story or any story from an Irish person, even the simplest name Eriu he cant say it!!!!I cringe every time he says "doida", 🤣it sounds so silly
