It is known for its stunning natural beauty, rich maritime history, and its unique charm. Robin Hood's Bay has a history that dates back to the 16th century and is closely tied to fishing and smuggling. The village's name is derived from its association with the legendary outlaw, Robin Hood. Its character is defined by narrow, winding streets, traditional fisherman's cottages, and historic buildings made of local sandstone. We explore every backstreet and narrow pathway we can find! I use the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to KZread. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

This place is an eye opener for me. Always associated the East coast of the UK with open and very flat landscapes. Forgot about the North York Downs area. A beautiful village Hellie. I'm envious too. The only thing I'm not so keen on is the influx of tourists. Not sure what the locals make of this.
Another pretty place,This had a vibe of old French/Italian villages. Just a wee bit claustrophobic.

It isn't really, you start to feel a bit lost then round a couple of corners you glimpse the sea & find your bearings.
New to a channel, but will definitely stay. Keep walking and see you on a trail 🚶🚶♂🚶♀

what a fascinating place. it felt quite claustrophobic at times and I wondered how you would ever find your way out of the maze with frequent dead-ends.

This place looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie it's magical, picturesque magnificent I want to go there and never come back!!
The most in-depth walk I have watched of Robin Hood's Bay, tough on the legs I guess but well worth it.
And what a maze! How could you ever give directions to a certain cottage 😂 By the way, I looked up that house for sale at the end of the video. It sold for £600,000.

Would love to live in a village like this. Probably one that's not as touristy.
What a beautiful place! Thank you for the video. I wish I could go there for a holiday. But it is a bit far, a bit expensive, and the area is a bit hilly - difficult to walk around. So, I enjoy visiting it on my iPad. Thank you!

Great treat! Fantastic to watch during a dreary afternoon in Amsterdam. I've been meaning to walk more for my overall health but it's so windy AND rainy here that I can't get myself to do it at the moment...

I suppose if someone were to ask what I would expect a place named "Robin Hood's Bay" to look like, the scenery, surrounding area and the kind of paths it would have... it would have to be exactly what is in this video. Also be cautious of underground tunnels (did we not all watch C.H.U.D. when we were younger?!!! lol) Another great video, thanks Dave!

I once spent a holiday in yorkshire over 30 years ago. Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby were our favourites. This brings back memories.
You never get tired while walking in Britain, there is something divine about the british weather and the food is the best.

This was fascinating! I’m in Australia where we love our space and these tiny cottages all on top of each other in the narrowest of lanes is just incredible. How do people, families live in these tiny homes?! They look gorgeous though. This video sent me down a google rabbit hole wanting to know all about this village with the smuggling history. @@kingofracism I think any place in the developed world has privilege and living simply can’t be generalised by country. Anyone anywhere can make that choice. 🙂No, for us it actually is that we simply don’t have that kind of history here…our oldest buildings are only a few hundred years old and obviously gorgeous villages like this were never going to relate practically in Australia. There is the space to spread out for starters and the distances between towns are vast. But it’s these geographic, historic and social differences, along with the climate, that make the UK so appealing to me 😍

They used to be fishermen’s houses back in the Victorian era. They didn’t need much room.

They are all good, but this one was exceptional. I was really impressed by the zoomed pan you did of the housetops from that field. Whatever stabilization gimbals you're using is really impressive. That was rock-solid and smooth as silk as if it were done on a high-end tripod. Gorgeous. I have recommended your channel to many, many people. Thank you for posting these.

This is what I imagine when I think of the English Countryside. Absolutely stunning, thank you for sharing.
Love the flowers, cute houses and steps with narrow walkways, it almost looks like a movie set. Very picturesque.
Its a beautiful place, no driving down at all, for good reason.. Very overcrowded on a nice day & unless you are good at walking distances up & down steep hills, be aware. I have no idea how people get a shopping delivery!! LOL Thank you for taking me back there, I cant manage my older legs any more, much appreciated.

Loved the walk! It was so peaceful and mostly birdsong. Love the meandering cobble streets and cottages at every turn. Definitely on my bucket list!
