Really hope to see Rob dominate Costa and with luck see him get his belt back. He’s a great and entertaining fighter, but more than that he seems like a great man who you can really tell puts family above all else. He lights up when talking about his kids and in spite of any issues you can really tell his family is his drive and thats incredibly admirable.

It’s probably the Complete opposite. He receives love, unconditional love from his children and deff feels good to be loved and looked at as a super hero and not for his fighting skills but for the love and safety he provides as a father .. not everything isnt about fighting , once the lights turn off and the crowd dissipates and they become old and grey they s re still fathers FIRST. And any one of them men would give up fighting to be a better parent even if it ment they wouldn’t be as well off financially. Rob has said it him self when he had to give his daughter bone marrow for a bone marrow transplant. In the press conference for the fight when he was returning, he said he doesn’t apologize that he was gone because he’s a father first. So his kids out looking up from their video games while he was training it’s just humbling and all the more reason to love them. I highly doubt they made him feel less of a man.

I think Ilia looks to be really good fighter. Watching him beat Emmett very convincingly, I saw many places where Volk can capitalise and now I think the only chance for Ilia is if the ko in Volk's last fight makes him hesitant. I see Volk chopping the legs, working the feints and angles to make Ilia miss and get hands on him, taking Ilia to school, showing the difference between 'really good' and 'the great'.

Love costa and been a fan for a while but dude lost to Izzy (shit the bed), lost to Marvin which was a war but he was 20lb over weight. Pulled out of 2 fights then finally got a win again against retired rockhold. Then pulled out to khamzat (albeit this time a legit excuse). But to think he gets the next title shot is laughable and a casual take. If anything IF he wins, he can get that fight with khamzat and winner gets title shot because both don’t deserve it at all atm. I’m pulling for Rob though 💪🏽

There’s a big difference between losing fights and physically declining. Rob’s 33 and he’s 4-2 in his last 6, but those losses are against championship calibre athletes like DPP and Stylebender. He’s still a high level athlete and one of the best at 185 lbs. MMA fans forget so quickly Christ 😑

His chin wasn't uncrackable since forever (just ask wonderboy), and nothing wrong with that, yeh he lost to Dricus... who is now the Champ... but he cleaned up everyone else cept Izzy... who no one else could come close to for years... I think Rob just had an off night, (Izzy too for that matter).. If Rob falls to Paulo then yeh he has a real long hard road ahead, but ATM he just had one bad fight out of many, many great fights.

And he's tough. He got cracked in his lightweight fight and had to actually fight through some adversity... so he's got the durability and heart too. This is definitely a good match up. I think Volk probably beats him but i think it's probably the last time Topuria loses for a while.
