He seemed like a genuinely nice person in this interview. Nevertheless, like Krugman, he seemed to let his politics drive his methodology, which is why he was always so snarky when it came to Robert Lucas and the rational expectations program, and why MIT became weak in macro relative to CMU, Minnesota, and Chicago in the 1970s and 1980s.

Love the music, hate the stabbings. Shout out to all my opps as they have BM’s too. Always got to keep my Rambo in the drawer, only to use on onions & garlic. Keeping that flav’r fresh & drippy. Bando always on lock & whip tank’d. Make sure to always keep your cuz in check whether opp or not. Hold tight the south, west, north & east.

Smart is something you do, not something you are. We have plenty of smart people who are blinded by ideology, on both sides of the political spectrum.

According to Solow, “Earlier generations are entitled to draw down the pool (optimally, of course!) so long as they add (optimally, of course!) to the stock of reproducible capital” [1]. Throughout his career, Solow has been a consistent apologist for the destruction of our living environment for the accumulation of artificial, man-made rubbish. This ideology has brought human civilization to such a state of existential crisis that we have taken a complete about-turn. The Paris Agreement promises to re-plant massive tracts of the very same forests that Solow vociferously justified destroying for the production of skycrapers, plastic packaging, highways and toxic chemicals. Such people are embraced by the megalomanic because they make psychopathy sound good. But the horrific consequences of these thoughts will only become more obvious as our natural ecosystems falter and collapse, a process which is already underway. Neo-classical economics is the result of generational hypnosis and dysfunctional neocortex. Unfortunately, many are swayed by accolades. But whatever psychological manipulations are at play in this video, the fact remains that shopping malls do not replace the water cycle; a network of highways does not replace atmospheric oxygen. The environment is in much better shape then when I was young in the 1960’a-70’s. All this blow about climate change is a well orchestrated hoax to lower your standard of living and put you back in metaphorical chains. It’s not to save the environment. Technological advancement is what saves the environment. Nuclear power for example.
