Excellent information! Though Robbie, you should put a Warning at the beginning of the video to take two Tylenol before watching to minimize the onset of a headache!

Thank you for all the great information you share! When I began my quest to build a guitar, I heard about the luthier's disposition for sharing information and you are shining example of that. Currently building my first guitar(already planning the second) and I have learned so much through your videos. Cheers

Wow! Stacks of useful knowledge! And this confirms what I have been thinking for some times. The secret for a good guitar is to find the perfect balance between stiffness/volume and lightness/traditional more characterful sound...

As a luthier (and engineer) I understand what he's saying, but as a player stiffness and density almost never translates over to an instrument that's as pleasurable to play, it may have great action, but something is missing. I played guitars from Hauser (1 and 2), Matthias Dammann, Fleta, and high end Torres replicas, and many other great luthiers. The lighter, thinner, more body resonance (and deeper like a D or even lower) just feels amazing; those types of guitars just sing and have sweetness to them. It's difficult to describe, you can almost feel the wood giving as you play it, that tactile response is totally lost with guitars built too stiff.

i had some trouble understanding what he is talking (sound-wise)... anyway, thanks for sharing! Não consegui entender direito o que ele falou... o som está meio distante, e ele fala meio embolado... o sotaque australiano também atrapalha um pouco.. uma pena! mas muito obrigado por sempre compartilhar ótimos conteúdos!
