Hey Robert, take it as a compliment...to be considered to sound as, or if not better than the best that's from the old school of neo-classical guitar virtuosity MIT graduate school in Burbank, CA (in 1985). I took several lessons from Joey Tafolla in Costa Mesa, CA (1988-90), and If I was him I'd be honored that you're using some of his chops off of his first album called "Out Of The Sun", from the 5th song "Stalingrad" that he'd learned from taking guitar lessons from Tony MacAlpine. Don't ever stop or slow down, and don't ever take any longer breaks than you should.... You might find it a little more of a challenge to play those arpeggio sweeps clean again! Thanks Bud, for showing me that the legacy of Neo-classical guitar playing for the new generation is still in progress in this decade.... GOOD👍STUFF!

I met him a couple times. Hell of a nice guy too. Many of the talented guitarist I know have half his technical skills and twice the diva attitudes. He was roommates with my buddy and came out to support one of my buddies gigs. Just a cool guy. Second time I met him, was over at my buddy’s place and accidentally woke Rob up. He came to the living room and said “sounds good guys”. Then went back to sleep. At the time, I knew this guy was kind of a big deal because my buddy said so. I had no clue until I pulled up videos after the fact. I was just beginning at the time, I’m still just beginning now, but after interacting with Mr Marcelo (quite possibly one of the most technical players to ever walk the earth), I have a certain appreciation for how a real professional conducts himself. Talent aside, just a hell of a good guy first. It’s pretty doubtful he remembers my lowly ass, but cheers from Columbus Ohio Rob!
