Robert Jones: Religion, Race, and Partisanship- Understanding America's Identity Crisis
Drawing on decades of social science research, Robert P. Jones, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute and author of The End of White Christian America, argues that today’s most divisive debates-over immigration, the rise of white supremacy groups, and police violence-can only be understood against the backdrop of demographic, religious, and cultural transformations that are challenging longstanding assumptions about what it means to be an American. These challenges are daunting, but Jones argues they also represent an opportunity to take up the work of weaving a new national narrative in which all Americans can see themselves.

3rd party? we would do well to have a 2nd party.
As I write this review the country is now well past President Biden's 100 day mark. I agree solely with the notion that at the end of the day white Christian America, at least as described here, really cares about political power more than anything else. That being said, I look forward to the day when a more diverse and multicultural America leads us past the days of a Donald Trump and thr far right. Religion, as always, will evolve with the the new social trends.
