Robert Kerr McLaren or “Jock” as he became known, was an incredible man. He was a feared guerilla fighter who escaped POW camps won the military cross twice and was mentioned in dispatches, but perhaps most incredibly he performed major life saving surgery on himself in the jungle, all that to come in todays episode!

He absolutely was a tough man. The jungle environment is probably one of the worst environments to be doing surgery in in the first place
