Much better comment than these others I'm reading. You make a great point and I agree with pretty much all of it. People are obviously going to compare them because of the similarities they have with each other. RG3 is probably the most athletic QB to ever get into the NFL. He is really exciting to watch and I am hoping he can accomplish even more than Cam although it isn't likely. We'll see, I'm pumped.

One thing is certain about RG III- HE CAN TAKE A HIT AND GET RIGHT UP AND THROW A TD. He also throws a very good ball. It'll be interesting to see how he develops in the NFL.

i kind of agree with you. a lot of his big plays were when the dbs made a mistake. He throws a ball and then his recievers do the work. this is the only film i have really seen from rg3. Oklahoma had a lot of blown coverage in this game.

After seeing this video, I am convinced that RG3 will be ready to play for the pros. Reason being, the protection that offensive line gave him has got to be the worst thing I've ever seen in a Baylor game. Now the Skins don't have the greatest of all lines, but they are very serviceable. If he can make those plays with that type of line, he can do it with the skins.

sure they were talking about him he was in the Heisman conversation prior to this game. But when you look at what this game was riding on the fact that RG3 had never beat Baylor the fact that Oklahoma had an opportunity to play for the NC game had they won this game and the fact that Griffin had so many NFL throws in this game. This game all but solidified him the Heisman. Sure he didn't have the hype that Andy Luck had who was projected to be the #1 pick the year b4 this but still RG3 was known

He'll do fine if he doesn't get hurt. He's got speed (he was a pretty good hurdler in in track in college) and he excelled at a smaller school against pretty good teams. I guess I'm w/ most here, I'll have to wait, but he's pretty good now. I like the Redskins. Most QB's outta college don't really run well, they're pocket guys who do well in a perfect system. The scramblers like Cam and Tebow and Vick and Vince (to a degree) and others are the one's that give themselves / team the best chance.

As an Eagles fan, all i can say is Im happy the Skins got RGIII. Hes not gonna pan out. He throws floaters. He has a nice arm for long balls but its easy in college when you have a 1st round WR. The Skins did what they do by giving a whole lot to appease their fans. As long as Snyder is there they will suck. Im sure RG3 is a nice guy and a smart guy but He just doesnt look like an NFL qb.

Well, not to beat a dead horse, but everyone doubted Newton when he was selected #1 overall. And Griffin is supposedly more ready than Newton was. I don't know if Griffin will throw for 4,000+ yd, but I won't be surprised if he does throw for over 4k yd. The game is changing now. More and more rookie QBs come in and have some sort of success in their rookie year.

His body mechanics are fine, light years ahead of say a Tim Tebow. His challenge, like all spread option QBs, will be taking the ball under center and making reads while he back-pedals. Tebow shows the worst possibilities for spread option QBs while Cam Newton shows the best possibilities. Only time will tell with RG III.

It's not a highlight. It's all the snaps he took Vs OK. It's what the scouts look at. Highlights make players look good with all the nice background music showing all those great completions. Scouts wants to see how players reacts under pressure & delivery. They don't care about completions. They know how great or bad some college OLs can be. They don't wanna see a guy standing all day behind the Alabama OL, per se, throwing darts.

Whats lost in here is that I like RG3, I'm really excited to see him play, but he will be playing behind an offensive line that gave up 41 sacks last year. Ware, the Giants Pass rushers, Trent Cole, They play the Ravens and Steelers. I'm saying he will have to play good pass rushers very early in his develpment. I would say that RG3 is better than Cam Newton is already. But Shanahan is not known for adapting to his quarterbacks needs. I think he's exciting, but he's not a finished product yet.

@chubroq006 the thing is that tons of other college QBs run offenses like that, but just about none of them orchestrate it quite like griffin does. He's putting up phenomenal stats, so that's where the hype comes from. I don't know how scouts grade QBs. Matt Barkley and Dan Persa are most impressive to me

5 Reasons your point is invalid: 1. Jason Smith was drafted in 2009 and turned out to be a bust in St. Louis 2. The Danny Watkins pick was criticized as everyone expected him to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder 3. They run a 2/3 shotgun offense similar to the one the Patriots used to run when they had Randy Moss 4. The center's name is Phillip Blake and he is not the #2 center as he is projected to be a late round pick 5. Kendall Wright is considered the 3rd best receiver and projects as a slot receiver

Dont compare the Skins to the Patriots. They are really in a class of their own the way they have been competitive for over a decade. Most of that is because of Brady but a lot of that has to do with their management and coach. Dude if you trust what people on ESPN say you dont know sports. The only reason they say that is because RG3 has more physical talent and because they wanna go against the grain. Luck is the most NFL ready qb in a long long time

He's got a good head on his shoulders, and all the physical ability in the world, and you can argue that if Luck went to Baylor and Griffin went to Stanford, behind that line, RG3 would be the first overall pick, but I need to see more accuracy under pressure.
