About:
Ranked at the top of the charts of the most sampled jazz and soul musicians, at 77, Roy Ayers has inspired several generations of musicians, including @robertglasper, who has made the art of covers a specialty with both volumes of his Black Radio project.
With his Robert Glasper Experiment, a band with a strong connection between jazz and hip hop, he takes on the grand repertoire of the king of vibes. Half way through this fantastic performance, which also includes Pete Rock and Stefon Harris, the group are joined by the soul maestro Bilal a former classmate of Glasper’s at the New School in New York.

Lyrics:
My life, my life, my life, my life
In the sunshine, everybody loves the sunshine
Sunshine, everybody loves the sunshine
Sunshine, folks get down in the sunshine
Sunshine, folks get brown in the sunshine
Just bees and things and flowers
Just bees and things and flowers
Just bees and things and flowers
Just bees and things and flowers
My life, my life, my life, my life
In the sunshine, everybody loves the sunshine
Sunshine, everybody loves the sunshine
Sunshine, folks get down in the sunshine
Sunshine, folks get brown in the sunshine
Feel what I feel, when I feel what I feel
When I'm feelin', in the sunshine
Feel what I feel, when I feel what I feel
When I'm feelin', in the sunshine
Do what I do, when I do what I do
When I'm doin', in the sunshine
Do what I do, when I do what I do
When I'm doin', in the sunshine
Sunshine, everybody loves the sunshine

Oh boy! This was song I meet this girl in 72, it was at Belle Island in Detroit, she was 11 and I was 12 summer of 72, june to be exact. It was on 8track back then, real ol'e school music family. She in 79 became my wife and this was one of our wedding songs cause we were married on Belle island outside. Every body loves the sun shine, folks get brown in the sun shine. We're still together and cruise belle island on warm lights like every body else. Memories are great, children are adults now and out the house lol..enjoy...🙂

He's great but unfortunately when he came to Yoshi's in Oakland I walked out. It was terrible, it was like he was just fooling around with his friends. I was so disappointed, honestly I heard better from church musicians jamming after church. I still love his talent but I was sordeidly disheartened after that.

@@morethandetermined-iyusaf245 I will agree on that - I had a similar "expierience" in Berlin a couple of years ago. Had been extremely exited to see them live since I would consider myself to be a huge fan but boy was I disapointed that day . To be fair I must say it was a terribly hot and exeptionally humid day and the venue didn't seem to be prepared well either, yet nobody in the group seemed to really want to deliver anything to the audience. Anyway still a huge fan though.

I got hooked on Roy Ayers from Guru's Jazzmatazz. Jazz opens minds, finds souls, and passes time by creating its' own time.

i was born in 2000, so I didn’t grow up knowing Roy Ayers. if it wasn’t for Rockstar adding this song to one of the radio stations in GTA Vice City Stories, I wouldn’t have been introduced to such a vibe at such a young age.
