You mean his father, his father was the one who trained him, and the greatest fighter to come out of they’re stable Fernando Vargas. Problem with roberts current fighters and his dads fighters is that they don’t craft they’re Defense as much. You can see Vergil, Mikey and Jose Ramirez struggling in this aspect as of late.

When robbert was fighting it was a lot of good fighters in that era that goes to show you how good of a fighter he was and why he trained so many world champions

This was back when they were still in Oxnard. Mike was still at 126 LBS. The kid he was sparing came into the gym talking about taking Mexicans out in the ring.

Every time some one fights with their hands down, I'm anticipating a knock out. Only some greats (but at the right time), fought with their hands low--Duran, Ali, Mayweather. However, even these greats were caught with good shots for fighting with their hands down.

"Only some greats" start the fight "with their hands down." Once you get a guy's timing figured out--and, as a corollary, you can establish a rhythm and exert that rhythm over the action--just about anyone can fight shooting from hip, with impunity. But, yes, there haven't been many like Roy Jones and Muhammad Ali, who no matter who stood in the opposite coroner they knew they had an impassable edge in athleticism, reflexes and handspeed.
