Eh. Michael was Dwight's first manager, and the repeated failure to win his respect or a promotion of any kind despite his work ethic wore him down over their time together. By the time manager #2 comes along, Dwight is a lot more experienced and jaded.

I always loved Robert California. I think the main reason people didn't appreciate him back then was because they were still hung up on Michael's departure and were resistant to any change.

They should’ve left in the whole Christmas party! Erin and Meredith’s scene was too good

What I love about this is we now know everybody about Robert California. This is like the charactors back story, like when Erin did the impression it showed that California had a sense of humor about himself while everyone was always scared of him. This is amazing, I wish they would do something like this for every minor charactor in a hit show.

Let's be honest everyone, USA is not the only American country. Not even the only ones who are a bunch of States United in North America (Mexico is another great example). We are just arrogant self centered douches who wanna think we're the only Americans in the world even tho we stole cultural staples from Latin America, Africans, Carribeans and Europeans. We're not all of America, we're a small part of it and I wish we'd stop referring to USA exclusively as "America" when americana stretches from the top of the Yukon all the way down to Tierra Del Fuego.

tbh i think if some of those scenes were left in the final cut people might like this character a bit more. there is some very good stuff in there, a couple of scenes that make robert look almost like a human being instead of a lizard

I really liked his character too. Also, my favourite scene of the whole series was at California's party and Gabe and Ryan dancing to the bitter end for Robert to notice their commitment.

Erin’s impression of Robert looked more like Ellie Kemper’s impression of Robert. Hilarious, but not in character for her. I can see why they cut that one.

His character made for hilarious body language among Pam and Jim. Pam cringing away and Jim looking alert, concerned, and ready to move Pam away from California. 😹😹

He was def one of those characters that wasn’t appreciated during the shows original run, office fans usually re watch these episodes religiously so it’s very easy to start to appreciate Robert on the 4th or 5th watch.

Stanley apparently senses when to smile big, nod, and avoid one on one conversation with chaotic neutral characters who drop out of their mansions and into his orbit.

True, for me it was how he set everyone up (esp driving Erin Home knowing he will be followed?) and then his Epic House episode lol his wife’s job was funny in a human way. 2nd best character next to Michael, HAIL THE LIZARD KING!!!
