@@bruhh6385 Gutted. Which 45 mins did he miss? In '79-80, he played all 70 matches. There were 4 matches {3 replays} in the FA Cup semi-final vs Liverpool. He scored the only goal in the final replay. The match before, we'd gone 1-0 up in the first minute through Alan Sunderland before Dalglish equalised in injury time. The year before he scored in our 3-2 win against Manchester United in the final. and the year before, he won the cup for Ipswich playing against Arsenal. So in 1979, he became the first player in over 100 years to win the FA Cup into consecutive seasons playing for different teams. But cheers for telling me that he played every game in the 1982 season. I never knew that.

Calm down. None of these players were flawless this season. Even Odeegard and Rice had few games out of form, and Saka wasn't as great as last season. They need to step up their game while the team need to find their back up so we can give Saka some rest when he is out of form.

My takes: Partey is not the Partey of old (lack of game time, maybe???). We should keep ESR and use him more. We should practice our shooting from the edge of the box.

That's one the biggest holes in this team. There's no real consistent threat from the edge of the box. This is something Man City have well over Arsenal. A consistent threat from the edge of the box forces the other team to close you down sooner rather than packing the box with no fear. This creates passing openings, not just forcing you out wide. There isn't a single player in our team that scores that first goal Foden scored against West Ham. A key difference

Kai Havertz for me Man of the Match. Every good attack he was part of. Stopped the play beautifully and got the whole team to go forwards with him. Elevated the play and was very light on his feet today. Clutch player he has been❤

Are we getting a full season player ratings?

Robbie based on your assessment Saliba was world class all year and should get a mention for player of the season , so what about his partner Gabriel Magalhaes who I think was better over the season !

Smith Rowe has only had one injury this season that kept him out of the team for more than a week. That was for a few weeks in the autumn. Other than that he had a bruised ankle that missed one game. It seems that Arteta does not want to play him and I suspect he was played today to put him in the shop window.

To be honest, when he was our highest goal scorer for a while a couple of seasons ago he was scoring often enough (in a poorer team) that he could have played in the Havertz position of false 9. He's not as good in the air as Havertz but he was more lethal with his shooting.

@UnknownUser-rb9pd I hear ya. That's a fair point. I am definitely a Smiffy fan, and wish we'd see more of him. I was talking about how the team and tactics are set up at the moment. He'd be third or even fourth pick for the wide left berth, and at least third for the centre forward or CAM. The only reasonable slot is the Odegaard backup, at which point the system tends to change, so no real need for a like-for-like swap. Gutted for him, frankly. He deserves to play.

Gabriel has been better than Saliba over the full season. If any defender should be in for player of the season it should be him. And I hope Gabriel avoids Copa America and has a good rest. Robbie also needs to check his facts regarding Havertz as well as quite frankly he was talking rubbish there. Odegaard gave the penalty to Havertz on the 7th PL game of the season at the end of September. He didn't score his second goal until the 13th PL game of the season at the end of November. He not only had six PL games between then but also several Champion's League and EFL cup games where he failed to score. This is not taking away from Havertz's performances later in the season but that penalty he was given didn't seem to improve his confidence in front of goal for about ten matches.

Yup, Robbie has a bit bias toward Saliba and Saka. Martinelli performance in second half simply outshine Saka from the last few games. And Havertz started to perform once Arteta played him as forward instead of number 8.

Partey needs to go can be a great passer at time but can't get around the field and prone to mistakes and injuries

I absolutely love the direction my club is going in, unlike other dead clubs (united, chelsea and spurs) we will sign more players and come back stronger next season

You don't know what you're talking about with Saliba and France. The fact is he's been pretty average when featuring for France. Looks nervous, not nearly as assured as with Arsenal. The occasion probably gets to him a bit, but he's still a very young CB. I have no doubt he will eventually be an unquestionable starter for his country.

He couldn't be 9 for this match while Odeegard only got 8. Saliba missed Calvert-Lewin in 1 on 1 and without Raya's superb save Arsenal would be one goal down.

Arteta should take EVERY tournament seriously, including the Carabao Cup. It's a trophy 🏆. We had the chance to beat City at the Etihad, but we were content with a draw. That is not a champions mentality. Arsenal need 2 quality strikers, yes 2. If one gets injured or suspended, then there is quality back-up. Saka needs competition. Start playing Nwaneri, just as Barcelona have a Wonder Kid in Yamal. We also need a good midfielder who has killer experience.
