Rob Thomas - Her Diamonds (acoustic)

www.cities97.co...
such a cool song.
Lyrics:
Oh what the hell she says
I just can't win for losing
And she lays back down
Man there's so many times
I don't know what Im doin'
Like I don't know now
By the light of the moon
She rubs her eyes
Says it's funny how the night
Can make you blind
I can just imagine
And I don't know what Im supposed to do
But if she feels bad then I do too
So I let her be
And she says oooh
I can't take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
Cuz I can't help her now
Shes down in it
She tried her best and now she can't win it's
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down
She sits down and stares into the distance
And it takes all night
And I know I could break her concentration
But it don't feel right
By the light of the moon
She rubs her eyes
Sits down on the bed and starts to cry
And there's something less about her
And I don't know what Im supposed to do
So I sit down and I cry too
And don't let her see
And she says oooh
I can't take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
Cuz I can't help her now
Shes down in it
She tried her best and now she can't win it's
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down
She shuts out the night
Tries to close her eyes
If she can find daylight
Shell be all right
Shell be all right
Just not tonight
And she says oooh
I can't take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
Cuz I can't help her now
Shes down in it
She tried her best and now she can't win it's
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down

I remember when this song came out. My mom was sick with cancer. I cried listening to it wishing there was something I could do for her. Seeing her in so much pain and knowing I couldn't take it away. It's four years later and she is gone.. I still wish I could take her pain away

Jordan Cantafio Jordan, Your not alone man. Went through the same horrible thing. I bet what you wished came true every moment you were with her. You were there for her. And I know you saw that in her eyes. Peace brother, I hope this is a consolation to you.

My mother passed a year ago November. This song always felt like a tune written to her. My mother suffered from extreme depression and she was an alcoholic. I don't ever remember her being happy but sometimes she got through the crisis. The bridge where it says, "...if she find daylight, then she'll be alright, she'll be alright, just not tonight." This was my mom, countless times. She never found her way very often. We never were close, after I grew up. But I never stopped loving her. I wish she had loved me. I wish I didn't miss her.

This song perfectly sums up what it's like to truly care about someone who suffers from depression...or to be someone who suffers from depression and have someone who cares for you. The second verse of this song makes me cry every single time I hear it.

My lupus does not just effect me but it effects my family as well. There are times that I am unable to take care of my children the way I would like to. My husband has to do everything sometimes,go to work, come home to cook , clean and take care of the kids and me. This is a very hard disease to deal with

Being sick, being in constant pain from chronic illnesses takes a toll on the mind and body. To find someone who loves you and doesn't look at you like you're damaged goods is really difficult. You feel like a burden, like you aren't a real partner in the relationship and you have to be grateful for whatever little the person is willing to do for you. Being alone when you're in a relationship is so much more lonely than being without anyone at all. Finding your value, I think, is the first step to letting go of someone who isn't good for you. It took me years to see that I am not my career, that being childless doesn't make me worthless. And I deserve to be loved just as fully as I love and not one iota less. Being chronically ill doesn't make me unlovable.

I suffered through the first of the two greatest loses of my life. First, My mom and we were so close and while living in the Twilight Zone, my bff/cuz 3 years apart almost same day. I heard this song the first time the other day because “ one less day” is my new favorite song. I played for my husband. This song is me and my mom and my cuz. The only difference is I am a survivor of their suicides and lived to discover how amazing Rob Thomas is. There is another song he sings regarding his wife and he tells his story at a show and in Atlantic City. Sort of like this a bit.. can so tell me name? I do not want to drive my husband crazy going through 100 songs looking for this one

Even before I knew what the song was about his voice and lyrics brought tears to my eyes especially the line, " and I don't know what I'm supposed to do but if she feels bad then I do too So I let her be" That shit is so hardcore that I got emotional cause he's admitting how helpesss he feels

Yes, I think being in that place is one of the worst situations that human beings live through. It never gets easier and we cannot understand that type of suffering and helplessness. His lyrics go straight to my heart and I am grateful for it. Music sometimes gets me through the darkest times!!!

I love the acoustic version of this song much better than the one with all the excess sounds so clean and pure and Rob has a wonderful voice.

@bluewolfsky The guitarist is Matt Beck, one of the best in the world. He is currently working on Broadway in the Spiderman musical. He's worked with Rob Thomas, Rod Stewart, U2, Lisa Loeb, MB20, and many others. He's an amazing musician.

i have a friend who learned to play on his father's guitar which was for a right hander, and his left handed, it did'nt stop him. he flipped it over for his left handed playing, upside down strings and all and now it's the only way he could play ....and man he can play.
