Dutasteride is better, if there's side effects the topical is great too. As the stays just in the scalp rather building up in body like with topical finesteride.

I have been losing a lot hair and I noticed it about two years ago.I had dense hair and now I don't have that density which indicates that I am balding😣 I started taking finasteride 8 months ago and I haven't notice any reduction of my hair fall. I am a bit concerned that my hair loss is not due to DHT could that be possible? The reason I think that is all hair strands I lose are very thick and there is a white part in the root of every hair strand that I lose. DHT causes hair strands to thin out eventually stop the growth right? Then why am I losing so many thick hair strands everyday? When stroke through my hair, about 25 hair strands fall out and in the shower I probably lose about 200 hair strands😣 any advice would be appreciated.

I think Rob Holding did well. Of course, why not?! I am getting mine done at Harley Street too. I actually had a consultation today and what I was advised was that I'm still currrently in the process of losing hair. And that I still have quite a few hair on my scalp and because I haven’t tried any medications before, I should first try medications between 2-8 months so my Dr can know in which areas my hair follicles have properly died and where he would require putting in the grafts during the surgery. What he didnt want was to kill any existing hair follicles on my scalp which could have regrown via medications that weren’t properly dead as of yet. So, to save everyone else the trouble, if you haven't taken any medications before to retain and regrow your lost hair and opt for a hair transplant, take medications first and then visit your Dr. Any Dr that advises you that surgery is appropriate despite you not trying medications first, will be a crook. That is the type of Dr you want to avoid. Finestride is actually very good. Side effects occur due to people taking it everyday. The total effect of 1mg supposed to last up to 30 days, so taking 3 per week should be a nice balance instead of taking 1 tablet every day. The reason why we require taking it regularly is to counteract the changes associated with DHT which take place almost daily.
