That's what I've been saying to all these casuals talking about how Castle is the prototypical Spurs player and that they are positive he's gonna go to the Spurs. He is a prototypical Spurs player, when we were drafting in the late first and second rounds. You don't waste the 4th pick on a defender that fouls a lot and can't shoot the 3. You use it to fill a need at the PG position. You use a high pick on a guy that shoots over 40% from deep, who averages 1.0 steals per game, hits his freethrows, and has pretty good court vision, all while coming off the bench. Not to mention his ability to drive and score in the paint reminds me a lot of TP9 and Irving. No question you grab the most electric scorer in the draft over a defender that you can find deeper or in FA. Just about every elite defender in the WCF right now was found after the lottery or went undrafted. That should tell all the casual spurs fans something. I think they are all stuck on finding Kawhi Leonard again, but Castle is definitely not Kawhi.
My spurs needa get him
Most underrated highlights channel on KZread.
Despite the lack of defense he’s still a top 5 prospect for me Has a lot of Darius Garland in him. Can see 22 / 3 / 7 averages for him at some point if developed properly

No, the one player in this draft who can step in and start immediately is Tennessee’s small forward Dalton Knecht.
@spursgoat84
7 күн бұрын
@@sarahmccoy1941 No, Dillingham is a starter. Knecht, at best, will be a role player coming off the bench depending where he goes. Especially if he goes to the Grizzlies. No way he's starting over Desmond Bane, GG Jackson, Luke Kenard, or even Marcus Smart at this point in his career. Yea, he could start on a very bad team that needs to fill a role at the SG/SF position. Don't get me wrong, Knecht has great skills, but he's not a game changer. Dillingham is.
Welcome to the Spurs
He has a chance to be really good. We haven't seen anything like it since Allen Iverson. His lack of on-ball defense is concerning but his quick hands save him, especially in the lanes and when he gets beat off the drive. The sky is the limit for him

@@Ashened0 He averaged a steal per game coming off the bench. It's not that he doesn't play defense. If you watched the Kentucky games you can tell. He actually was pretty decent at the POA. But he tends to ball watch sometimes. His scoring and ball handling abilities are off the charts! With all the hype Castle is getting about his great on ball defense, he couldn't even average a steal per game. Not to mention, Castle is more of a project. He can't shoot the deep ball at all. Dillingham shot over 44% from 3. Castle, less than 28%.
Rob wit the shifts remind me of Jordan Poole

I see there were no defensive stats listed for Dillingham. And I understand why. He plays no defense.
Spurs bound with the 4th pick.

I like Knecht, but not with the 4th pick man. There is no reason to reach on a player like Knecht with the 4th overall pick. Maybe the 8th because of his skillset, but I'm not seeing him coming off the board for my Spurs. Who are we benching in favor of him? Keldon Johnson? Branham? Champagnie? Cissoko? At this point I'd rather hold onto Osman over him. They are basically the same player. I just don't see the Spurs drafting another wing with such a high pick. It's possible, with The Alien on our team, that we might never have this high of a pick for the next two decades. You can always draft a guy like him deeper in the draft of find one in FA over the next 2-3 seasons when we're finally ready for a deep playoff run. Don't buy into the ESPN hype that we need to get Wemby to the WCF next season. We gotta be smart with these two top 10 picks and not waste them.
In the current worst teams, only 2 teams need a PG : Spurs and Wizards. The other already have Scoot, Cade, Lamelo, Ja Morant. But I'd better see him in Washington
If he was 6’4 or taller, he’d be in the running for the first pick.
raptors need him
All I’m go say is 23.3 minutes per game… he may avg 20 out the gate… playing 35-38 min as a starter in league…. that’s over a 60% increase in playing time….
Did he even start the whole season …how is he entering the draft these players need to go back and stay at least 3 years strictly for development
While I think he’s a good comparison to Kyrie, I think JCrawford is a better comparison
very skilled but rob is going to have the exact SAME PROBLEM as players like cam thomas... That is being efficient enough offensively without being a burden defensively. A lot of his straight line drives are going to be much tougher against NBA shot blockers. He is much shorter too so his closeouts are going to have to be aggressive. If hes putting up 20+ on a bad team with bad defense -10 boxscore these type of flamethrower non playmaking guards can usually fall out of the league..
His jumper looks familiar 🥀 🤔

Will be a better pro than Castle…..Much more craftier and better offensive ability. His ceiling is Tyrese Maxey
he seems like kyrie a little bit
Besides shooting … boards, assists steals and blocks are incredibly low. Blocks I’ll let it slide.
