Roadtripping the 190E Evo 2 1400 MILES PT14
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I built a cheap Mercedes 190E Evo 2 Replica and it was time to drive over 1400 miles to Seattle for WekFest to join with hundreds of other modified cars. Let see if my Mercedes can make it…

Never could I've ever thought that that rusty 190E in the first episode would turn out to look like this. Great work!

Thank you so much
Keep it up you guys! Haven’t had this much fun following a KZread series for ages. Can also relate a ton; I bought an old SAAB recently which honestly is the most problematic purchase I’ve ever done 🤣 Watching these videos keeps me motivated to have it drivable soon! 👊🙏
It's normal for a 190e to get up to 100 degrees C in traffic during summer. The fan is set up to only kick in at 110 degrees from the factory. Just make sure that the fan actually turns on when it gets up to that temperature and you're good to go. The car isn't actually overheating.

Yes, but when the radiator is old it gets worse, highly recommend replacing the radiator as the factory one wasn't that good. A good radiator will keep your car at 80 during idle on a hot day. I have the same car.

It's not normal... First you should trow away mechanical fan and mount electric one ...

@@PLMacflyPL I agree an electric fan is a good upgrade but 100 degrees is not bad for the car and definitely normal when it gets no airflow. There is a reason why the engineers decided to only have the fan turn on at 110
1 rpm gauges is bad because ur fuse box & fuses are corroded, just gotta sand down fuses contact points, 10 minute fix 2 the clutch fan rarely goes out its the sensor that goes bad, it can be bypassed at the sensor on thermostat cover, just bridge a wire on the 2 connectors and fan will stay on 3 ur misfire & all seems like its electrical, the ovp relay would be a good start.
The 190E is the racing car legend and was beautiful also God bless ❤️
Here is my problem with this project. It's half assed. Just cover the problems with a bodykit and wrap. Looks good untill you open a door or hood...or drive for a few hours. 😕

@@bigsmokeosrs7394and timing was really tight. They did as much, as they possibly could and more. It's a gamble, meant to be, youtube after all. On a high note, bit more of content like this and there will be more funds to finish the project properly.

It needs m111k with a turbo, and a 6 speed. Then it’s solid. My only question is why not start with a rust free example like the one I’m building now…

Or just swap it m104
Check your crank sensor and ovp. Sometimes when then engine gets super hot, the old crank sensor will quit working because heat interfers with electronics. Your ovp relay could have something to do with whats going on with the speedo and the hazard lights not working.

I second this, worst comes to worst it could be the EZL
the car looks AWSOME dude, im so happy u kept through the project despite the numerous problems. keep up the great work
I love the light blue exterior with the dark blue leather interior.
I missed a couple episodes because of school and just rewatched them and man this car turned out good! Great work hope you will make it!!!!
A great effort absolutely beautiful work love the car can’t wait for the engine swap maybe a 5.0 v8 out of a R129 500 sl Mercedes?
i would maybe say that the bolt were for the main driveshaft but i can be wrong. Just a wild guess haha
Alternator is gonzo, happened to me on a road trip in my 190E.

The bug splatter though. 😂
Bro how did you do it
I have a 190E 2.30-16 - the speedometer cable broke and the speedo stopped working along with the odometer. simple fix. but the cheap $90 aftermarket ones are junk. try to source a used OEM one.
Love the progress. Dont know if it helps but check that your relays are good. Especially the OVP which in my knowledge is #1 cause for these mercs not starting. Might get lucky and 1000 grit the connector pins to clean em up for better contact. And for the love of god check the spedometer cable is screwed on tight to the back of the instrument cluster but also check the other end into the transmission. Literally just went and saw my mercedes guru yesterday and asked about the the fans cause mine too comes on at 110°. He said if i want peace of mind i could always wire in a switch and manually turn them on Good luck and hope she started
initially i thought that was a gearbox bellhousing bolt.....can the autobox stall the engine...and cause a misfire....
You need to install 4 of the SPAL smallest fans . Plus bigger alternator . Also plus bigger battery . Did you change the radiator ? Water pump, thermostat . What else . Good luck .
Love that 370. ❤
Speedometer is probably a vacuum leak somewhere, it's connected to fans too
Keep your fans on full while idling, another issue that I seemed to have with my car too. It prevents it from overheating.
I have a 190e that I manual swapped and m104 3.6 swapped. Let me know if you have any questions during the swap
@magnacars

What mounts did you use
@jacobschadie9061
15 сағат бұрын
@magnacars My car started as a 2.6, so I used the original 190e engine mount arms with new 190e rubber mounts. For the trans, I used all of the parts from a 190e 2.6 manual. The shift linkages, driveshaft and speedo cable are all unique to 190e 2.6, because the transmission is located farther back than on 4 cylinder cars. Also, since your car is a 4 cylinder, you will need to swap in a 2 piece radiator core support from a 2.6 car. Let me know if you have any other questions. I used a lot of parts from different mercedes in order to make everything work as best as possible.
I think car battery is faulty or something with electrical wires
pls buy some Nd filters or some kind of lens for your phone, we need crispy carporns

Does this model have a computer? Reset the computer, unplug the battery for a moment.
I think you should get in contact with DPUK in england and opt for one of those gorgeous om606 bullet proof crate engines that make serious power and will be reliable at the same time Om606 for power and reliability imo

I hope you are going to run a turbo on that M104 👍🏻 Stock its a kind of boring slow reving engine that just drinks petrol. With turbo it’s a dream 😊👍🏻 by the way, at the border you do NOT have to answer all their questions etc etc

Its a 190 mate you shouldnt think if its gonna break down they are bullet proof 😂
You need to paint that front grill black or blue to match the car, this shiny like that doesn’t look too good
SMH....some of these theories are funny.
ngl it looks perfect. a new engine would be the best bet.
This project is all looks. The fact that you didn't even change the oil after you got the car. Simple, basic thing you can do yourself after you said in early episodes that you will learn as the project goes along. When the guys were fiddling with the body kit and welding, you could have pulled the engine and fixed it. It would have taken a lot of time but it was very possible to do it in time (including learning) as the car was being worked on for half a year. You said in a comment that you are not really interested in working on cars and you prefer doing interviews and such but then wasn't the money better spent traveling around and doing just that? Video quality and editing is great but clickbaits and very apparent lack of interest in doing any work on the car (even simple things that require little to no knowledge or preparation) is ruining this series.
FAKE!!!!!! EVO 😂😂😂😂😂
