Me happily getting clickbaited by Cyx for the 10000th time for Hog Gameplay: :) Plus the DPS getting nerfed with the passive indirectly rebuffs take a breather, especially considering he plays top 500 lobbies and likely will have it applied most of the time using breather.

Yeah not a giga buff, but it gets the clicks. I'd say the 50% increase is good though, since his 4x shrapnels are losing a bit of damage against armor.

The change to the DPS passive and ult charge off tanks is kinda an indirect gigabuff 🤷😂

With armor being changed twice hog now does 29% less damage against armor than he did after his rework.

Its not noticable in his hook combos on tanks. The buff to his trap alligned that

crazy how all the creators have been going nuts with this patch yet here we see Cyx instantly adjust to deal with it. Guy took the changes like a G. I'm taking this one as a learning experience and putting it into my Platinum games. Activate > run > cooldown > attack. Seems comms are gonna be so much more important in games now!

Basically counter swapping is more common now... it got worse. You are in Plat, so your other team won't be as effective or as good as Cyx's. It is a scrappy patch and if you ever rank up you'll see very quickly how this patch is crappy.

Hooking him while he's shouted, been doing that since day one just to remove his healing ability for that duration. Especially in the octagon.

This is the problem with OW2 these days, even in a GM lobby people don't understand how abilities work. :) "Why are you running from a cardiac overdrived Mauga?" GUESS!

Doin the mauga math. mauga has a dps of about 237 when the enemy is on fire and he’s mag dumping into a big target. in the previous iteration his 237 dps would have converted to 142 hps for a a total of 711 lifesteal healing over 5 seconds in the most ideal circumstances without any other buff or hero assistance. The current patch allows for 100% lifesteal as opposed to 60% Meaning at 237 dps the mauga will receive 237 hps for a total of… 711 hps over 3 seconds in the ideal circumstances. This coupled with the 10% extra damage reduction and his overhealth generation would give him a little less than 3 times the effective health pool in that 3 second duration. Overall a net nerf imo. He was already unkillable in cardiac overdrive and now that everyone has realized the best counter play is to LOS him till the ability is used up all that this is going to do is make it easier to back off and wait him out.

@@AJ_UK18 I mean generally Mauga is a pretty solid hero anyway. Even with this net nerf the armor buff is going to improve his survivability against most characters. However to go with your thought process of good hero synergy I’d recommend a support like Lucio to speed him up and make it easier for him to close the gap.

The thumbnails never fail to make me laugh. Net nerf for hog because of armor changes. Damn sad day.

AND knock back resistance nerf, makes his whole hog knock tanks back further which is less damage on the tank. So it was a double nerf. They basically buffed all the armor tanks, good thing hog has no armor.

That Mauga buff seems like a roadhog nerf to me.

You got to look at armor buffs too. Now you get them down and immediately he has full armor again.

The buff is trying to make it more of a trap to cut off areas but they didn't remove the 1 shot combo with it so hog players aren't going to stop using it for the 1 shot. if them make the activation damage much less but the damage overtime much higher than if you got hooked into it while still having a cooldown than you can escape BUT if you don't have any cooldowns than you die. I think this would be better because he can still basically 1 shot if he is with his team or if the enemy used all of they're cooldowns but I don't see that much use for it cutting off an area like disruptor shot

I've been maining Hog for years. I've mastered his hook-shot-melee to the point where when I kill someone, it looks as though I killed them with a shot but in the feed, it'll show as melee.

I think lower ranks will have more tanks q up bc of buffs. I doubt it will effect much in t500

No it didnt. They buffed the trap as a compensation. Armor also only has a 50% damage reduction cap so hogs only pellets effected are his big ones

That three seconds means just about every tank with any mitigation ability and any player with brain cells can counter overdrive. It’s a nerf.

they may buff overdrive back to 4 sec. frankly unless he use cage it's so ez to wait out the overdrive and then re-engage ! what's the point of 3sec when every CC takes off 1 sec atleast and He has like 2 sec effective overdrive or even less. Overall unless you're dumb enough to face tank mauga on his shout for pure ego duel, the uptime nerf outweighs the buff by a massive deal !

For mi the hog was to be bad por this sesson because the demage and health of the mauga is soooooo crazy

if you can’t mitigate his bullets for three seconds your tank is brain dead dva can propel and eat the ENTIRE COOLDOWN and have half a second left on her matrix and now mauga has zero sustain ability untill his cooldown is back
