Great camera, Eric Snodgrass, congratulations for posting what you witnessed. There are similar incidents of roads washing out in Colombia, Sibundoy Valley, Putumayo. But those washing outs were caused by abused of extraction of gravel material for a new road construction.

That was just nature returning itself back to its original state.

The kinetic energy of fast moving water is gigantic.

Never underestimate Nature ! It always wins !!

This looks like somewhere in GA. One year we had a creek wash out a portion of a road down a hill just like this. Silver Run Creek in McDuffie County, GA or Columbia County, GA. Looks just like it!

Really great footage, very well shot. Thanks for posting it, it is a powerful message about a very dangerous situation....

It's the tunnel that the river normally flows through, but it's too small to handle the flash flood so the water backs up and flows over the road.

When nature decides to resume his rights, nothing works! Not even Eng rights, whatever the origin of its name and prénon. Fabulous document produced by a cameraman who knows how to observe and speculate the event. Congratulations! John
