Road Trip to Florence SC! (near the only Atomic Bomb drop in the US!)
Time for a road trip! Family needed help loading a truck in Florence SC so we took it as an opportunity to explore the city! Along the way we saw the site of an accidental Atomic Bomb drop on the US, just outside of Florence. We also visited a great roadside country store & gift shop, Sparky's! And we checked out the Florence County Museum! We finished the day with some great local BBQ. It was a great day...enjoy!

I'm from Florence and you did a great job. The downtown area has changed drastically over the last 10 years. We also have a great library that you would be surprised to see in such a small town.

Yes, it's a true story! We didn't believe the story when we first heard it! Thanks for watching!
If the city/state would get their act together and built a high speed interstate to the beach (60 mi away), Florence could really boom. The 501 route path is already there. The city also needs to incorporate areas just outside the city. The boundary lines are insane...jutting in and out all over the place. Instead of its listed 40K, Florence really has an 80K population.

You are right! Florence could become a great city if it had better road access. Why in the world is there still not interstate from Florence to Myrtle Beach? Whoever heard of a vacation destination not having an interstate to it? Crazy! Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment!

If you ever come through Florence again you need to eat BBQ at Rodgers. They are absolutely the best.

My hometown has changed so much since I moved away in 1985. I still have to visit the museum. Planning a trip down in June to see family.

Yes, the city of Florance has made a lot of changes! When you go, you must check out the new Buckee's that just opened in Florance at one of the exits off 95. It's the biggest roadside stop in the USA and are from Texas. We visited one in Florida, and it was spectacular! (kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIiVqc6xf8rZqaw.html) Thanks for watching and have a good visit with family! Cheers!

I am actually thinking about moving to Florence, we like Myrtle Beach, but honestly don't think I would want to live there, more of a small town area kinda guy, looks like a nice place, we have driven through a couple of times, and Darlington is close by, I am a NASCAR fan also an automobile tech, I am looking for a place I can live and build old classic muscle cars.

We can see the appeal of Florance. Good location near 95, they have great healthcare there, and it has a nice downtown that is working to improve itself. We wish we lived closer so that we could explore the city more often. Plus...they are opening a Buc-ee's soon! Good luck with your search! Thanks for watching!
