After receiving a wildcard invite to the first Sheffield while recovering from injury, Lya Bavoil had to push to get back to form after not being able to lift at full capacity. Through months of hard work, she was able to break the total world record by 0.5kg.
Going into Sheffield 2024, Bavoil describes her mindset as "completely different". Now healthy and injury free, she will do whatever it takes to win Sheffield, where she won't aim to break the world record by 0.5kg, but to completely obliterate it.
