Road to Backside Air: Episode #3 - BS Slash and Building Comfort

Спорт

Back at YMCA Encinitas after putting down the little BS Ollies in Hemet. Had some high hopes for this session but ultimately got some solid slashes and worked on my comfort on the ramp. Skating vert never gets old!

Does the commentary make the raw session footage better or worse?

It’s funny because this is considered “mini” vert because it’s 10’ instead of 13’. Nothing feels “mini” about it haha. It’s like learning to skate again but it’s a blast.

I know the feeling, 30 to 45 minutes to get comfortable, 60 minutes till your legs are toast 😂 With the slashers, I find when you are really reaching for them (feet above your body almost) even if the heel wheel goes over the trucks don't touch so you don't get that satisfying sound. Gotta have a bit more pressure on the heels like Mitchie keeps telling us. And yep I can't figure out the powerslides either!

That 15 mins feels great though! Haha. Makes sense about the slash grinds - it was definitely the tries that I was actively going for the coping that I got the sound and I think my mini ramp pivot muscle memory pressed my heel down. It’s addicting though, can’t wait to get back out there!
