Maestro_T I have to agree with above the mercy interiors are nice. But top for me is the panamera. But Mercedes went over the top with the piano black touch

Guessing they hadn’t used Launch Control for that relatively slow 0-60. Normally at around 5.2 seconds.

That car is quick! and pretty superb MPG, $$$ as you'd expect though.

I had a 2012 Audi A5 Prestige Cabriolet that I LOVED. After trying to switch to a Honda Accord Touring (HUGE mistake), I went back to Audi and got a 2017 A4 Prestige. This car is amazing. It's so refined, and feels like it should be a much more expensive car. The power comes on so strong, and is more than I need. It also returns very respectable MPGs - mid to high 30s on the highway. Technology is fantastic, and execution is top notch. Audi's attention to detail is worth every penny you will spend on one of their vehicles.

Matthew Swearman I own a 2013 A4 and I’m absolutely in love with it.

Contains major error - 2017 definitely available in manual transmission - I have one and it's great.

I have a 2018 Golf R, I like the A4, love that steering wheel

A manual is now available for the B9 A4 as a no cost option. It just wasn't available at launch.

Still in two minds about ordering this car. The new 5 series is very tempting but that little bit more than I wanted to spend

Nice ! One thing I noticed with Audi and Volkswagen is that they have Tachometer on the left and Speedometer on right like Japanese Cars. In German cars and other European cars, it’s the other way around (Speedometer on the left and tachometer on the right). Audi had this set up back in the 80’s as I remember in the Audi 5000s. I had a 2019 A4 S line a few years. The drive and feel of it was amazing, a few quality issues but overall great vehicle. One thing, I forgot was that can you change the speedometer from MPH/hr to KM/hr ?

i was at a dealer this week and they told me a manual will be available for the 2.0 liter in the US

Baruka88 in Europe we already can buy the 252HP with the manual 6spd and Quattro so it'll be available soon! And it's kind of "sad" seeing Audi only offering one engine in the US...

What a nice vehicle.

audi really is a trend setter, looking at mazda kia hyundai cars that came out 2018 n 2019 , most if their design are copied from audi

People say cars are getting smaller and smaller, but this A4 is the same size as a first or second gen A6. Just like how a Corrolla now is about the same size as a 90's Camry. Still not a fan of the 2.0T and whats with getting S-line badging by just getting premium trim?

I'm not sure why he kept saying this is a small car. It's larger than the 3 series or C-Class and is actually just a tiny bit shorter than my Legacy which is considered a midsize car.

Model year 2018 should see an all new A6/A7. Look for it in the summer/fall of 2017.

If you had turbo lag at launch, you must not have used launch control. You would have also taken of about .4-.5 second from the quarter mile and 0-60

Just got this, very nice car :)

This was in the top 3 choice of my list. It truly is a great car, and I test drove it twice just because its that good. But when Audi announced that they are laying off 30,000 jobs in response to their emissions scandal, and with the fact that they are building the new Q5 in Mexico but are labeling it a German Car (because you can do that under German Law sadly) those reasons are enough to sway me to look at a MKZ or a Genesis G90. Sorry Audi, you done messed up!

I put my 2017 A4 Quattro in Sport and Dynamic drive and it will got 0 to 60 MPH in 5.3 secs... (no mods).

The 2013 exteriors are much superior to this newer version although this has better interiors and a decent sized rear seat.

Why in parts of this video did the car have the the S4 badging while the video was supposed to be reviewing the A4 model????

Nose heavy fwd-based design. Sport car? Stops and wobbles like a boat. Sport sedan? What are you so excited about.

unless you get the sport seats, the standard seats are horrible,.

The Quattro system is not rear biased in this generation A4... It sends power to the front in normal driving and only sends power to the rear when it needs it.

Yes and NO!! If you opt for the 6 speed manual transmission in the awd, then YES!! it will come with AWD-Ultra(Rear decoupled until it needs awd)..... But, if you opt for the 7 speed DCT, then NO, it's Full-time Quattro, all the way.

GERMAN cars are expensive to buy and expensive to maintain. TOYOTA, HONDA, NISSAN and HYUNDAI are excellent choices for working class people. I am almost 70 with more than 50 years of driving experience. I have owned and serviced GERMAN cars.

My parents just picked up an A4 on a lease, but the sales manager gave us a clue for how expensive some parts are if you are unfortunate enough to have bought one without protection/warranty. If you need to replace one of the headlight units if it's broken while driving, it's $2000...as in, $2000 each. That's Canadian dollars, but still, even in the States that would likely be $1500-1800.

yes, but someimes you want to reward yourself with a better driving experience. Especially if you take a lot of long road trips where 9 hours in the seat seperates the classes in noticeable ways.

We have a Volvo sedan that came with a 5 year full mainteance plan and warranty due to a promotion they had. 5 years and nothing but a set of tires, not even the battery or wiper blades or brakes will cost a dime. I will bore of the car before it runs out of warranty, and will pass it on to a relative with low miles.

hitechburg you haven't given the newer Germans a chance Audi is one of the most reliable Germans. I also own a 10 year old Mercedes that's still works great.

Yes. A trendsetter. The trend of spending more on a vehicle to buy, run and maintain.

I would not drive this just anywhere. Lots in the world that can ruin something like this car.

Car looks like every other Audi ever made for generations but with new grill, bumpers, headlights and tail lights. Very lazy designers they have at Audi and Bmw I have to say. But I still prefer Bmw any day and would rather wait to see the new 3 series. The c class and Lexus Is premium package has a better interior, and If sport feel is completely essential I would go with the jag xe instead. When it comes to comfort and luxury as well there are better options as well. I'm just not sold on this car, but I must admit the best thing about the car is the virtual cockpit. That's just new tech well done.

What is with the Germans and their love of that horrible "let's take a tablet and glue it on the dashboard" design? This would only make sense if you could swap it out in a couple of years when the technology changes, but otherwise, make it so it flows into the dashboard for fuck's sake.

It's only in the A4 as far as I know. At least my A3 and my friends A2 and A5 doesn't have it glued onto the dashboard, they just switch in and out as you start the engine. But why would you swap it after a few years anyway? Software updates should be enough to keep you going, and the tablet thingy isn't much more than a screen anyway.

The A3 and A5 are older designs; the new A5 will have the fixed design. I like the A3 for that reason, you can get it to fold away. But you'll notice BMW and Mercedes have also gone with the fixed design, so we will probably see more of that.

Did they just put the ATS and A4 in the same sentence? Haha...clearly an american review trying to boost the image of a home brand by comparing it to realistically infinitely better cars. Seriously, the Audi A3 makes the ATS feel like a cheap, nasty, squeaky GM product in comparison, let alone the A4. A4's interior and build quality is better than on the CTS Cadillac, and ATS couldn't even dream of being near the feeling of solidity and robustness the A4 has, as well as the refinement and comfort, and attention to detail in every smallest part of the car. ATS rides way too stiffly, has poor sound proofing, it's rough, interior is horrible both in terms of design and materials/fit and finish, there's not a surface in it that doesn't squeak when pressed or feel loose when handled with force, it's tiny and cramped, especially in the rear, etc. So, no, ATS is not a natural competitor for the A4, and it doesn't offer luxury, sport and comfort in same amount as the Audi. It can't even be compared to a current Passat (EU version) which is also a much better car, let alone the A4. It's very far behind the European competitors. The only time when the ATS had a remote chance of competing with the Germans was when it came out, because it was timed so that the ATS came out when the 3 series, C class and A4 were all at the end of their life cycles and were 6-7 years old at the time. At this moment, it's far behind them.

Counterpoint: Audi/VW reliability. That great Audi fit and finish is hard to enjoy when it's getting serviced. Again. Don't tell me it doesn't scare away a lot of potential buyers, because it does. It's an image problem Audi/VW needs to address by making less finicky cars. Now as a disclaimer I drive a MINI which is regarded as even more unreliable than most Audi's. My MINI has been 100% reliable and never given me any trouble after 125K miles. Many potential MINI buyers are likely scared away due to reliability issues as well.

I am by no means a "domestic fanboy," but your ripping on the ATS is by and large a pile of shit. The fit and finish is more or less equal to the Germans and even if you said it was behind, it would only be slightly behind. I sat in some Lexuses and their fit and finish is nothing special these days and well below the Cadillac's. The 3 series has hard plastics in it the lower you go in the dash and the doors, so don't try to pretend that these cars are built without any cheap plastic. As for the person above me, he rips on VW/Audi for having bad reliability then talks about how great his Mini has been, which is a brand that is also proven to have bad reliability, so maybe cars aren't that bad these days. Consumer Reports has been finding Audi's reliability to be very good over the past few years, probably because the models are old. Will this new one have problems? Probably. I wouldn't trust any German brand for reliability, really, but then most people lease these cars and dump them after.

Still a pile of junk!
