I have so much respect for Truck Drivers, and a lot of it came during the pandemic. As a railroad worker I had to go to work when things had gotten at its worst and it seemed like I was the only car on I55 going into Chicago. Just me and trucks! Trucks that were transporting every kind of good that kept a civilization going. I thought God if we ever go back to the way it was I will always do my best to show respect patience and courtesy to these drivers because they deserve it!

I loved the pandemic. All the useless people stayed off the roads. Going to and from work everyday, was so nice. Im sure it was different in other locations, but very few things closed around here. Schools, restaurants, movie theatres, ect all stayed open. My children and I never missed a day of work or school. Nothing about our lives changed. But, there was just enough people choosing to lock themselves in their homes, that everywhere we went, it was just nice.

He goes from roaaarrr to meow.. meow.. pretty quick.

I was a trucker for 20 yrs. You wouldn't believe what car drivers do every day. Which makes driving a serious dangerous situation for the trucker, my load often 80,000 lbs. Think first people..

General rule of thumb: Don't mess with truckers. Many of them will come to the aid of another trucker if they see them getting harassed by dudes with short fuses, and in some cases, they're carrying as they gotta keep themselves protected.

My dad was a truck driver and he told me that Turkish truck drivers have a really good safety system, when there is a lot of them on a parking lot doing their rest, 2 guys sit outside and watch the trucks for potential petrol thieves and such, and they switch every 1 hour. Truckers are like bikers they keep an eye for each other.

Truckers used to have a solid community but it’s dwindling. It’s still around but not as solid. I used to be OTR but now I’m a port truck driver. Inside the ports, every trucker becomes each others enemies lol Constantly battling to get in front of each other because the lines can be crazy long. Worst thing I’ve seen so far is 2 truckers physically fighting each other because one thought he was cutting him in line lol😂

They teamed up because historically it was the only way to survive, on those roads all sort of criminals preyed on truckers in all kinds of ways. Now it's a natural thing without thinking much, they know that it is the only way to keep it safe and survive for them. 5 years ago a truck driver helped me cross the border from Russia to Georgia. Militarized border with the army. War zone!! He had cigars, Cuban cigars, I gave him two and he told me: take two more cigars and give them to the military, tell them I sent you. Thanks to him I can leave and enter the country and legalize my immigration statuses. We still talk and it was over 6 years ago. Respect for truckers

Oh man, this video reminds me of my old trucking days. We were with a friend of mine at La Jonquera (near the border France/Spain) and around 11 PM, the alarm of another truck triggered. We immediately jumped with 3 other drivers to go help him. The camaraderie between truckers is indescribable

As I trucker I appreciated the four wheeler drivers that would drive smart and especially the ones who would keep pace with me to hinder the line cutters near merging. Respect when given is also earned.

Emergency vehicles frequently have to use the shoulder.

Love how truckers stick together against these fools. They have to abide by many more road rules than your average vehicle and they're more experienced in driving. In Western countries anyway.

This reminds me of when I was 12 years old at a softball tournament in Santa Cruz and a bunch of drunks started threatening me and cursing me out when I was walking on the main path near the bbq area. So I went to the dugout and told my pops! Immediately there were seven 6 foot 6 men with bats headed in their direction to make things right!

I have a very similar story, I was 10 and my dad took me to a Mariners game, I loved the Raiders and would never go anywhere without wearing my Raiders hat. This drunk guy didn't like that and snatched it off my head and smacked me. My dad, along with a couple other guys taught that fine fellow a lesson

It is Ukraine. The contribution of truckers during the war years is very important.

Something drivers should consider: traffic may be blocked because of an accident ahead. If traffic is gridlocked- emergency vehicles may need that shoulder as access to the accident scene to bypass that gridlock. Picture yourself or loved ones bleeding out waiting for first responders stuck in a gridlock if you can’t feel or don’t have compassion for others.

Great point here, but these are people who clearly value their own time over everyone else’s time, safety and personal regard. They’re on the shoulder in the first place because they care about and consider nothing but themselves. Situations like this are honestly some of the only ways to correct people with that kind of entitlement

Nah. They're just truckers. Truckers have loyalty, half of them are talking to each other on the CB, and they all do a dangerous job that a lot of people don't respect them for. They're professional drivers who are driving constantly, while some are idiots, most are not going to tolerate poor driving. And since they're trying to hit a deadline, none of them really want Karen in the yellow shirt to try to force a merge later after playing his nonsense.

In my book if you drive on the shoulder and you're not in a emergency vehicle, responding to a emergency or a actually having a emergency you are a Jackass.

It sure didn't look like the truckers were ensuring public safety. Swerving back and forth in order to block other vehicles would piss me off too!

Homie realized after all, that he ain't about it. And the worst part is, he turned his back on them and walked away as if to say, "it's cool, no problems here, everyone have a good day."

Do not mess with my truckers, I have much respect for them. I was a young kid driving cross country for the first time and was flying down the highway in Pennsylvania when I had to slow down because several truckers had blocked the way and were driving the speed limit. I was frustrated of course. but a few seconds later I saw that highway patrol had laid out a speed trap. If it were not for them I (and a few other folks) would have been pulled over. Ever since that happened I've appreciated and watched out for them.

I live in Pennsylvania and Mississippi thoughout the year and truckers along 81 in PA are HORRIBLE and notorious for doing this. Truckers should ALWAYS leave the left lane clear at ALL times unless they are passing another slower car at a decent rate of speed relative to the slower car. PennDOT had to pass laws due specifically to these unintelligent truckers in your story. Them "saving" you from a speed trap is slowing everyone else down who would have happily drove 73mph in a 65 mph down interstate 81 and never been pulled over. Truckers are awesome, but they are complete moronic idiots if they are blocking the entire road due to a speed trap, which then causes traffic to back up, hence Pennsylvania's horrible interstate system. It's sad when Mississippi is doing something better.

One thing I’ve learned from this video: A trucker might fight with other truckers but when it comes down to it, they will kick your ass for trying to assault another trucker. Stay safe out there truckers 🚚🫡
