A similar thing happened to me this month, except much worse. Woman ran a red to turn left and hit me head on, I am still recovering. On the flip side, I sued the shit outta her and got myself a nice settlement check with quite a few zeros. It's a sad reality, motorcycles really aren't that dangerous. It's other people who are the danger. California seems to have an odd rule that only people with an IQ of 7 or lower are allowed to drive.

Honestly, they should require a yearly or bi-yearly driving checkup for elders over the age of 60 or so. Some of these older people CANNOT be driving.

People in the UK have to pass a theory test and a hazard perception test before they can get a licence. These, together with an eyesight test, should become compulsory at the age of 50 and every 5 year years thereafter up until the age of 65 and then it should change to every 3 years.

At 1:59, the most dangerous thing a rider can do is riding to an intersection without covering the brake. Always prepare for the possibility that they violate your right of way. I feel so bad for this rider, what a horrible accident.

The police in that second clip are beyond incompetent. You can see in the video clip the biker clearly did damage to the right side mirror on the driver's side, if not break the whole mirror off from the car. Yet all the police did was caution the bike rider when he confessed to the crime of simple criminal damage to property and road rage? Man, this is why we need road rage laws on the books because of shit like this. I'm all for defending bikers when they're the victims, but there's never justifying or explaining away pure unnecessary road rage like this.

it seems like the lady says "you couldn't have been going 25mph." and looking at the speedo at the start of the clip it looks like it says 48 or 49. so if the speed limit was 25 meaning he was going double over i think he was at fault.

The first guy, Bubba Bear, was just looking for a problem at that point. Going double the speed limit means it’s YOUR fault she didn’t see you.

Regarding the “Karen” in the first clip, he chases her down and we’re spared the usual “you almost killed me” and the frantic tapping of the helmet mounted GoPro. Do people really think the problem is with the car here? If you’re going to speed around suburban roads, you will far exceed the other driver’s capacity for anticipating your arrival. The right move is to start braking as soon as you see the car entering their intersection. That was only an issue because of the speed of the bike. And in case you don’t know your state’s laws, it’s illegal in many places to chase down the other driver. Guys, slow the phuque down and take responsibility for your own safety.

Tru Bowen, before you try and make her look stupid, take a look at your own riding. When you're in the left turn lane, you turn and stay in the same lane. You somehow managed to switch lanes halfway through a turn while doing 16mph on a ninja 450. I think the US should implement Learner plates just for you.

Today I was riding home from work on my bike. I ride casual, not crazy, and I don't tailgate vehicles. Today I was behind a truck and it was about a 20 mile stretch of single lane highway with steady traffic flow and no intersections. Sunny day, temp is cool now so no bugs, the guy in the truck ahead of me sprays his windshield washers for a good 10 seconds and hoses me down. I wipe my helmet lens and shake my head, fucker sprays it again for a solid 20 seconds and starts shaking his head in the truck. Moral of the story, some people are just born to be total pieces of shit...

Never ever say "I'm fine" after any accident. It could be adrenaline and you could have a slipped disc or something else. Always say "I am not sure let me gather myself"

What does turning around and chasing people accomplish? I would never get anywhere if I was chasing every dumb driver I encountered

First clip, lady is absolutely right. Biker was going well over 25. It's hard to gauge speed on something as small as a bike when it's coming straight. She rightly assumed she would have plenty of time and space to pull out and make her turn before dude riding at probably twice the posted speed got there.

Agreed. In some cases the biker sometimes sees the car turning a ways ahead and instead of slowing down (which they should be doing), they floor it and put themselves in a dangerous position they should never have been in and get all pissed off at the car/suv/truck for "cutting them off". Alot of riders are good people who obey the traffic laws and enjoy riding, others who think sitting on a crotch rocket means you gotta go fast no matter where your driving and causing accidents is why they get a bad rap. Small amount of bad riders tarnishes the overwhelmingly good riders.
