Road Freights, Locals, and Passenger rail in Albuquerque, NM!
In March, I drove down to the city of Albuquerque, NM to check out what goes on down their on the rails. With a mix of heavy freights, locals, commuter trains, and Amtrak, I was able to get a look at everything the city has to offer.

Nice video! Love the SD40-2s. I like how the light catches the orange on the 1803. And the telephone poles are still up. 😁

Great video! Commuter trains will bring a second locomotive as protect power. Since it’s the only train of the day, it’s easier to just have it tag along rather than strand the train and passengers anywhere along the 96 miles. Other railroads do the same, this way there is easy access to spare power if needed along the route. Metra in Chicago does this a lot.

I just recently moved back to las cruces from Albuquerque. Good catch of the BNSF H1 on that Empty autorack as the V-ABQELP is now abolished and now goes on the transfer to belen where then autoracks are then put on H-BELELP
