Nope, there’s a ton of power there if you push on the gas. The whole idea is to not spin the tires if possible. Spinning makes the tires slip off the ledge and then your in a fix. Your probably used to a Polaris style snap and go clutch as well where power is delivered to the wheels instantly and if you don’t get right into the throttle you burn the belt. This machine has a wet clutch, you can’t burn the belt, it gives optimum control to the wheels for crawling.

@@westernslopermax216 I’m familiar with the Yamaha Ultramatic clutch setup, just sounded like it was revving more than what low range would but then again sometimes hard to tell on video..

Yeah I’ve noticed a difference in the videos on the sound when the machine is going toward vs away. The Rmax came with 18 gr weights in the primary and really high RPMs I’ve actually got 22 gr weights in and much lower RPMs than stock. That might be why it sounded to you like high range. This makes trail riding much more enjoyable between obstacles, not feeling the need to stop and shift back to high all the time due to so many RPMs at only 15 MPH in low. It makes cruising RPMs much better in high as well. I’ve also got a shim in the primary and a lower starting ratio than stock, even with the 32” tires on. I can light those tires right up if necessary.

@@westernslopermax216 probably a bit quieter too while cruising I’d imagine..
