Just one note that might help for context is that in some languages the word for fireworks literally means fire flower. For example 花火 (hanabi) in Japanese and 불꽃 (bulkkot) in Korean. In the MV they used real traditional Korean fireworks 낙화놀이 (falling flowers/embers) made out of charcoal, they look super beautiful and totally suit the message Joon wanted to get across.

He deserves a Grammy for this album or at least this song - it’s so beautiful. I cried like a baby first few times I watched this video. I didn’t realize how burdened RM felt by the pressure of fame etc. it hurt to know that. But I love this video and song so much. A forever favorite 💜

Yes, inner turmoil, especially since they started /signed up as trainees so young at ages 13-18 years old. The schedules, training, schooling plus all the hater since they came from a tiny agency. Its a lot to deal with over the years. God bless all 7 members, may the be protected, live long happy healthy lives in both professional and private lives.

This is from his first OFFICIAL solo album, but he has two solo mixtapes you guys should check out - both are amazing! If you listen to the whole album Indigo, be sure to watch his documentary about the making of - it's quite interesting. RM is a tremendous lover of nature, and it is his solace. Yes, their solo works DO have these struggles in them...a lot of their personal struggles don't fit into the IDEA of BTS, or even most kpop groups. So they come out in their solo stuff, where they are under much less restriction of what they can/should talk about and a less restricted image they have to project.

but group songs r about their experiences, struggles and thoughts about the world so I'm ??? about you saying that their personal struggles don't fit with the group's music when it's just that they can expand and talk more individually/in depth in their solo music. They still do so on group songs tho, the members have always been very personable in their music solo and group wise

RM= Real Me

Though I love this song it is the divetsity of the album that has made me a big fan of INDIGO. every track is a different genre. He raps more in songs like STILL LIFE. In Indigo he collaborates with industry venerables such as Erykah Badu and Youjeen famous for turning down offers to collaborate. It is a mark of the respect he is held in the industry. INDIGO is supposed to be a diary of RMs 20s but its the perfect embodiment of these confusing times we have lived through. The drunken dissafection of CHANGE. My perfect lockdown song LONLEY. There are songs about the difficulty of developing closer relationships in our society. STILL LIFE one of my favourites he compares himself to a still life everybody is looking at, but hes still moving. I strongly suggest you listen to the album from start to finish. I think you will agree this is a future cult classic. RM ROLLING HALL CONCERT SEOUL has live with Youjeen singing. Anderson Paak too. BTS are the most sincere genuine artists out there.

The live performance others have mentioned was held at Rolling Hall in Seoul (Hongdae, I think) - a small venue that was a dream venue for a very young RM. Also, just one clarification - not all members' mics are bedazzled. V has never had his bedazzled, and SUGA's most recent one was also not, although the one it was at first when they all started having their own color mics was. The most recent one I saw JK use in a live performance also wasn't, but his also used to be (purple).

In my top 3 of most favorite songs from their recent solo releases. RM is a poet and I consider him one of my favorite lyricists of all time.

I don't know how you understand the video when you constantly pause and / or speak over the singing. Look at the video first, then react afterward. That way, you fully understand what is being said

Most reactors don't do that because they would have forgotten what they wanted to say by the end of the video.

To ground himself, RM rides his bike, reads, takes walks, visits museums and such. Now anything you do that soothes your soul or that you do for self care or for a mental break is called “Namjooning”.

Namjoon NEVER said that RM stands for "Real me", it is literally just an abbreviated version of Rap Monster. He does not care if people still call him Rap Monster, especially people who have been fans for that long and he said that. Even Jungkook calls him Rapmon and Rap Monster despite the change. Stop spreading false information and policing people over a small name change.

Wildflower is THE song that broke me. I think this song hits differently and harder after you’ve spent some time deep diving the group and the shit they’ve had to deal with. But they always pour their hearts out into their live performances. You can always feel their energy and passion for music. Rm has evolved so much and willing to explore different styles of rapping. His earlier stuff was much darker and angrier. He’s definitely experimenting more now. But that’s how artists should be. Should evolve and grow. That is artistry. There are pieces meant to try and top the charts and popularity, and there are songs that are meant to be art. Indigo is art. Unfortunately, it won’t get the same popularity and hype as songs meant to go viral on TikTok and top charts 😓

Wtf are you talking about? RM's older rap songs never got the popularity they deserved because of people like you. His older songs never went viral and never won awards. His older rap songs had brilliant wordplay, original beats, smooth rhymes despite the switch between English and Korean, and perfect delivery but because of people who do not have a cultural appreciation or connection to hip hop, all of that went unnoticed. ALL of his music is art because art is a form of self-expression and he was always expressing himself from the beginning. Anger is not always bad, it is how he felt at the time because he was mistreated, experienced racism, and was not respected by his peers.

I dunno how you interpreted my comment, but I was praising RM, not criticizing him 😑 he literally said indigo was created with longevity in mind and not popularity, just like most art pieces. I love RMs older songs. But true artists need to evolve. They can’t remain stagnant. Isn’t that what the whole point of chapter 2 is about? For them to find their own colours and experiment? I’m praising him for trying different things and evolving. If you’re attacking me for saying his older music was darker and angrier I was referring to his rapping style and message in the songs. Like joke and the cyphers etc, versus his newer music. His older music had more anger and frustration whereas his newer music is more hopeful and introspective And I’m a rm bias, just look at my name 🤦🏻‍♀️. I support all the members. I stream and buy all their albums, including RMs. But I understand that some songs/albums will sell better because they are more catered to mainstream audiences. I’ve been streaming and buying so I don’t understand why you think “people like me” are the reason he didn’t get the popularity he deserves. I can tell you it’s because you need to understand where he’s coming from and the hardships he went through and his backstory to see the different layers in his music. But unfortunately casual listeners don’t have that context and many times are unwilling to understand the lyrics or message behind the song. THATs why they won’t mass stream his music. Especially albums like Indigo which requires a deep dive. But those that are willing to deep dive will see the beauty behind it
