Since they are announcers within the MLB they most likely have a restriction that if they discuss the Astros cheating that they will be fined. Same sense as the pitchers be fined/suspend if they throw at astro players

If they allowed the players to be mic’d during the regular season TV ratings would skyrocket

It might actually help market the players. MLB does a terrible job of showcasing its stars so I like the idea from an entertainment perspective. They'd have to switch up who's mic'ed and when, and they would just have to make sure to sprinkle it in, cause every at bat for instance would probably be overkill.

If the technology could be small enough, small camera on catcher’s helmets would be cool to have a view of the pitches coming in. Obviously not every pitch, but an intermittent view they could go to, esp on crazy off speed stuff. Maybe there’s legit reasons this couldn’t work, but might add a nice element to the TV viewing experience.

I'm a lifelong baseball fan & minor league player. This is the greatest infield commentary I've ever seen! Is this too XFL? Why aren't the majors adding ear pierces to all players? This gives a great insight to on field activity.

Spring Training isn't super serious, not like regular season or playoffs are. They're more laid back during spring training

Fascinating look into an at-bat. I used to wonder why players didn't have earbuds to improve their play, then the Astros flushed that idea down the toilet :(

Guy has an ear bud that is talking to announcers, near the beginning he mentions that he would like someone to "bang" for him. That is in reference to the Astros literally banging from the dugout when a particular pitch was going to be thrown they would make a noise to let the batter know what was coming.

They don’t have to, it’s a cool idea as long as the player is cool with it. It’s interesting to see a players thought process during an at-bat and baseball needs all the help it can get to make it more interesting for new viewers.

I don’t even pay attention to the astros anymore lol. They aren’t even a team. They are irrelevant completely to the game and its integrity

The Astros were in a huge scandal a while ago for using cameras to know what pitches were coming. They signaled by banging a trashcan, hence the "Can someone bang for me" remark
