It's impressive to have a yacht of this size so easy to maneuver. Truly an owner/operator's dream boat.
I love the look of that helm position
Captain Steve doing a great job as always. Along with a great editor and camera crew. Captain Shelley is great too. Boat test really have great people working for them. Merry Christmas from Ireland everyone. Best regards to everyone.

Thank you David! Merry Christmas to you!! And thanks for watching!
I think Capt Steve has a genuine soft spot for the wonderful Aussie-built Rivieras. Am I right Capt'n? They are one of the most iconic and enduring boat brands here in Australia with even 40-year-old models in high demand and fetching good coin. There is a reason for that...they have always been well built, cleverly designed, practical boats with very little BS about them. Rodney Longhurst has done a fantastic job breathing new life into Riviera. He clearly is passionate about his work and deserves all the success he gets.
I love my 78.
That is a beautiful boat
Captain Steve here on a wet deck with his bare socks like a true Captain lol
I've been waiting for this one!
No fenders while docking? Your a braver man than I Capt Steve!

Cheers! Happy Holidays!
Great review from a pro Captain. Perfect for cruising the Caribbean or South East Asia where you would have the range to head from Thailand to Sri Lanka or the Spice Islands. With a top speed of 32 kn the vessel should be able to outrun most pirates. Great for sports fishing and diving. A fantastic bit of kit!!
Fast boat too for the size of it.
Is that roughly $15,000 to travel 1000nm? Let me shake out my couch.

You won't ever need to worry about it since peasants can't afford to buy a yacht in the first place.
Enjoyed seeing more of the real time operation of this yacht.
You're back!!!-womdering where Cap'n Steve went.
Really nice boat. Perfect to spend the summer in Tassie. Only thing I’d like to see in the crews quarters. Even it if it is a small counter top for a toaster and a kettle for morning cuppa.

WOW! nice!!!
Great review...Appreciate it!
Hi Steve! Take a look at the new Nordhavn 80!
Sweet boat 💕
What a beautiful boat 🛥
Love this boat. Wish there was a 2 cabin option to allow for a small lounge area or more storage in lower deck
super - yaht !!! veri
That step up at the bow area is a trip hazard. Any single step is a trip hazard as your brain doesn't recognise the drop or raising in elevation in a single step.
😊🎉
Any issues with the “windshields” not being forward swept?
Can you boat test a riviera 5000 sport yacht I would like to know the cruise speed
Anyone else notice Bad Company in the background :) lol
For the serval million price tag, why are builders not incorporating diesel electric propulsion systems?
@PowerYacht
Жыл бұрын
Diesel electric is near impossible to for a planning boat. It becomes practical mostly in displacement yachts sub thirty meters. Although some builders as Sanlorenzo and Sunseeker and Azimut are offering some options with Man or MTU systems currently available in between the 80 to 100 feet yachts.
OK So I see that you are able to manoeuvre the boat easily, and you say that it has all the adjustments available with the joystick and bow/stern thrusters...But I'm thinking those controls are placed such that they are accessed with the right hand of the skipper/captain. Surely, in close quarters, bow/stern thrusters and joy stick may be required by novice captains AT THE SAME TIME. I'D like to see the bow/stern thrusters available to the left hand so that they could ba accessed and adjusted in conjunction with the joystick !!! I know you will argue that there is already such control and the joystick is adequate or that it's TOO much control you say?! If that was so, why offer it at all? If you are going to offer it, make it available at ALL times. There are times when one has to deal with wind or current on the nose and it can be necessary to control all of that as you use the joystick. I guess I'm saying...we have two hands, two controls...why not use them.
No blazer
Incredible dexterity. Not a fan of doing 180s with a Sport Cruiser or any Cruiser for that matter!
Why do we suddenly have the irritating background music? Capt. Steve sets the benchmark for boat reviews but the music is so distracting that I’ll be unsubscribing if it continues. Such a shame.

Nobody of discerning character can be critical of Bad Company! Nuff sed!
I think everyone should take any opinions here with a grain of salt. These are simply paid promotional pieces and nothing more !

why so angry, mate?
Why, on just about all of your videos, can you not do the math to convert LPH to NMPL? Seriously what is so hard about simple math? You go to all the trouble to tell us how the bulwarks raise from 31.6 inches (an inch being 3 grains of barley) to 32.6 inches at the high point, but you can't employ a 10 year old to do simple calculations for you. And, if you want to pretend to care about the metric system and its conventions at all, and can afford a 12 year old to do the extra math, use L/NM.
@BoatTEST

We do provide the NMPL.

@@BoatTEST In a rush to blame the idiot commentor, you've missed the point. The comment was intended to point out you consistant lack of accuracy, and an attempt to instigate you to review the numbers.Your maths is wrong!!! Check your figures. How can you travel further on 1L than on 1 gallon? There are 3.785 litres in a US gallon. 0.2 NMPG divided by 3.785 = 0.053 NMPL. (Which is pretty meaningless number, so best converted to the normal convention L/NM, which would be 18.9L/NM).

That's a lot of commentary there for them being off by a decimal point. Mistakes happen.

While I don't agree with the tenor of this comment I do agree that litres per nautical mile or even litres per km, as all of us non US and UK punters are so familiar with metric distance units and what they feel like. Fantastic video though. Keep up the great work Cap'n.
