    i would swear that a machine set rivit is much more solid than a hand one i find that to remove one set in by machine takes a lot more effort than to remove one put in by hand. any tips for handling a bulky item your trying to rivet?

    Can you advise how to avoid the circular depression marks around the rivet from the dies?

  • @HobbyBloxs

    @HobbyBloxs

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes. This means you are using the wrong size die. Use a smaller one and there will be no depression marks. It might also be that you are just using too much pressure. Try a lighter touch.

    In a pinch could a double cap rivet be set with a larger size of die? (say a 10mm die setting an 8mm?) is the cap was placed on the post prior to pressing?

  • @HobbyBloxs

    It will set it but it will also leave a ring around the rivet dome.
