River Reflections: Napako (Our Journey): The Coahuiltecan Creation Story

Dr. Mario Garza shares the creation story of the Coahuiltecan people who follow an ancient ceremonial path that is documented on a 4,000 year-old rock painting near Comstock, Texas. His thought provoking story about The People emerging from the headwaters of the San Marcos River reveals a rare view into an Indigenous relationship with water.

it's so sad what was taken from us. i wish i could go to my Homeland and live peacefully... i wonder what the tribe would think about transgender brothers and sisters. i know Anglo Texans aren't very accepting.. ojala that the tribe would be accepting. I've always wondered about Coahuiltecan gender norms.. and how our people see that... I believe my soul is female so.. Anyway... i want to visit this sacred place someday. i hope you guys will like me haha. I'd love to have familia like y'all. ah manam
